I want to first say that HomeGoods is a great place to shop. I love going at least twice a week to shop and see what I can find that I didn’t know I was looking for:) I had always received great customer service and employees have been efficiently helpful and kind. Sadly, I had a bad experience this past Sunday: I had been in line for about 30 minute when I started to feel lightheaded, so I told my son to handle the check out while I found a place to sit. (I noticed that several people were sitting around waiting for people inline: husbands, children, etc) so I took a sit on a chair close to the check out area until my son finish paying, which at the time he was moving to the counter. I had been sitting for about a minute when an employee passed by, looked down and angrily said: “that is a costumer’s chair” I felt so humiliated and embarrassed. And immediately stood up and left the store. I believe she could have been polite and kind. If the chair had been purchased and she was looking out for the “well-being” of chair, she was doing her job but in a contentious and sarcastic manner. The next day the chair was still in place and Not sold. Please understand that I have no problem being asked to move, but her demeanor and tone were rude and condescending. Hopefully she was just having a bad day and she will treat costumers...
Read moreI generally avoid shopping, but this store has always been a go to for me when I need to buy gifts, clothes, decor, etc. Today I was especially blown away. I needed to put together a gift basket and found beautiful items at great prices. That would be enough to leave a great review, but the checkout experience today was especially impressive. Pregnant and two small kids in the check out line, I managed to break a large glass container that I had placed at the bottom of my cart. It made a huge mess and hurt my toe. An off-the-clock employee happened to be nearby and jumped to clean it up and ask her team for help. Another employee brought me band aids. They all comforted me that it happens and it’s okay - meanwhile hormonal tears definitely tried to make matters worse. I was so thankful for the kindness and grace in the situation. If I could give the nearby customers 5 stars I would. This staff went above and beyond when they could have handled my mistake so...
