The Passdoor Gallery — Local services in Sonoma

I am an interior designer on one of my buying trips to Sonoma. I stopped by this gallery today as I am hunting for a few pieces for a client’s art collection. I found a beautiful black and white and as I raised my phone to take a picture a woman crossed the room, abruptly snapping “No pictures.” Not “I’m so sorry, we ask that you don’t take photos at the request of the artists” (or whatever). There was neither a sign asking visitors not to photograph pieces, nor did this woman exhibit one iota of class or diplomacy, I might have been able to overlook the interaction had there been one or the other. My go to gift store and one stop shop for things of beauty and function has always been The Passdoor, owned and curated by Jennifer Edwards. The store recently moved from their spot in Sebastopol at the Barlow to a new larger space on the Sonoma Plaza. It’s gorgeous—the perfect place to display an expanded collection of modern art, furniture, jewelry, and housewares by artist and designers world wide, and many local artists too. Absolutely worth a visit to the store! I love their new space in Sonoma square. I've picked up unique art-inspired pieces, cool bar ware, hostess gifts, special birthday gifts, hip accessories.....this place has so many wonderful items and they're all high quality. I've always been thrilled with my purchases and leave happy. The atmosphere is inviting and art gallery-like so it's right up my alley to browse. The salespeople are lovely and knowledgeable too.
