Family Sandcastle Building event - call Andy — Local services in South Padre Island

Who wants to build a sandcastle?! I do! Maybe it was a childhood dream of mine to build a masterpiece on the beach, one with moats and bridges, that unfortunately would quickly fall and crumble back into the sea.

As I explored activities in South Padre, I found Andy who provided the expertise of exactly how to build a strong, lasting castle. I looked him up on you tube and social media and saw his raving reviews and pictures of families with their huge castles and decided this was what we were going to do!

Andy was amazing! He was a pleasure to meet, laugh with, and became part of the whole experience. We built for about 4hours, adding and experimenting with different techniques and ideas. We left with tons of memories and fun. I’m not sure the last time we did something as a family to this extent and truly enjoyed every second. We left with a sand chemistry lesson and a bag of tools to build at the beaches we visit in the future.

But there is more! We came back day two and day three and built 2 more castles! It was so relaxing and calming we couldn’t wait for another day of building. Then, the cold freeze hit Texas and we had the awesome opportunity to stay longer! We bared the freezing temperatures, lack of electricity, gas and propane shortage and made it back to the beach again! This time we made a big sea turtle on the beach, thanking the hundreds of volunteers who spend days caring and saving the thousands of sea turtles washing up on the beaches.

All in all, here is what we leave you with... We arrived home on February 25 to NH and told our friends about our experience and we booked a trip back to Padre to be part of the Family World Sandcastle competition! We can not wait to see Andy again, have another lesson, and spend another week on the beach building Sandcastle’s!

I never knew building sandcastles could be so much fun and the product we produced after our lesson was amazing. Andy was a fantastic teacher and really had the best patience when it came to teaching us adults and our younger children. I would highly recommend getting a lesson from him and even entering into the competition. It was one of our favorite experiences on the Island....

We showed up with a group of families who knew nothing about building sandcastles and Andy showed us how to sculpt amazing creations. His teaching style is very fun and engaging.
