Coco Beach Club — Restaurant in South Padre Island

Coco Beach used to be Boomerang Billy's. It was much better before new owners took over. A little paint and updating does not support doubling the cost of food and drinks. Service is horrible! The wait is long when someone ahead of you orders a mixed drink. Bartenders are lacking in skill and customer service. Sure miss the ladies who served here formerly. They now charge $12-14 for 8 oz specialty drinks that taste like nothing more than fruit juice. Food menu used to be cheap and delicious. They've cut choices and increased prices. This local is NOT happy. I wanted to love it because it is literally across the street from me, but I rarely go there now because of the changes.

Update 10/26/21: Regarding the response from this business stating that the bartender works very hard to provide excellent customer service, I would suggest that you and I either have different ideas of that excellent customer service consists of or you have not visited your own establishment as much as I have. We have consistently witnessed the same thing each time; tables are dirty, trash cans are overflowing, bathrooms are dirty and out of tp and/or paper towels, bartender rarely even smiles, much less make customers feel welcome, she leaves folks standing at the bar without so much as recognizing they are waiting, she has zero hustle even when the line gets backed up and she cannot multitask. We visited with friends a few days ago and were only able to get 2 rounds of drinks in 2 hours because of slow service. My husband waited in line behind just 2 others for nearly 10 minutes just to get our check and cash out.

We sincerely want to give our business to your establishment, but it's hard to justify it when we can go just up the street to another beach bar where we are greeted immediately by friendly staff, bartenders take the time to learn our name and make small talk while making drinks, and taking our food order (which is much cheaper), the tables are bussed regularly, and the bathrooms are clean and well stocked.

I recently visited Coco Beach and had the pleasure of being served by Fran, the bartender. From the moment I arrived, Fran's warm and welcoming demeanor set the tone for an incredible evening. Her expert mixology skills were evident in every drink she crafted, each one a perfect blend of flavors and creativity.

Okay.. 2 star hotel for a reason and they lived up to there 2 stars quality..lol So Coco beach hotel is for individuals who aren’t peculiar about fancy things like clean walls,painting,and updated fixtures. The rooms could be also upgraded with new fixtures but they are comfortable. We checked in Tuesday in which early check in was available for extra $50. Tuesday-Friday was our staying time..Wednesday we thought our room would’ve been taken care of by housekeepers but we were wrong. I had to pressure the lady to change sheets n clean towels. The beach bar is what your stay is about it’s definitely a good location on beach, awesome view of beach setting, and a great Vibe!! The drinks were good the food was good and the music was good. Live DJ on Thursday. Also beach volleyball available. The atmosphere of positive energy and vibrations is what this little cozy beach hotel brings. I would book again because...
