Beach Access #6 Seaside Circle — Attraction in South Padre Island

We arrived Saturday afternoon waited in line to go in and whe got to the g7ard shack to pay, officers were turning people away from entering due to very loose sand. Only 4x4 trucks allowed on beach due to people getting stuck at the entrance and exit. All this due to idiots in 4x4 trucks tearing up beach path. Overnight they brought equipment to pack down the sand so any vehicle could enter and drive on the beach. By late afternoon again the idiots with their 4x4 trucks ruined the pathway again. We left the beach in the evening and a bunch of vehicles and trucks were stuck in the sand by the entrance and exit, I had to drive around these idiots to exit and back to the rv park, my truck is 2 wheel drive but drove through loose sand like driving on pavement and exited. Most of the time it's not the truck or car but the driver's experience in different types of terrains, just because someone drives a 4x4 it doesn't mean that the driver is any good or...

What I didn't know till now. You must pay to drive on the beach at any of the access points. $14. $6 if ur a vet. 1st time I've ever had to pay for doing this. There is a constant police presence and are not friendly. Had one park apx 30 yards away with their limo tint and observe us as we did nothing illegal. You may not back up to the water but must park way back off the water on other side of car path. Not sure why they care as they say it costs a fortune to get a tow Truck out there should you get stuck. Not their concern. It's free from after 7pm. Till morning. Most wana go during the day. Must pay. The water was chilly. July 22 /25th we will most definitely go elsewhere for vacation 1st time...

Best beach in Texas: smooth sand, plenty of space from the entrance to the water so that you aren’t pushed out by high tide, calm water & clear water safety flag system so that you know what you’ll be facing that day.

We were there over a holiday weekend, so got to see the July 4th beach parade (that seems more full of vacationers than locals tho) - fun to watch. There was some trash on the beach, likely from the high volume of people that week.

Bring your own shade cover or umbrellas! The sun overhead gets brutal, and in most spots on the beach the preset umbrellas and chairs belong to residents and are not for rental....
