The MetroLink was a convenient mode of transportation, but it seems there were some shortcomings. There were no escalators for luggage carriers, and I had to navigate a lot of stairs to board the Red Line to Lambert. The transit app does provide real-time updates on train arrivals, which I appreciated, and I liked that some stops allow for easy transfers to the metro bus. However, as with any public transit, there were some shady individuals around. It would be beneficial to install ticket scanners to ensure that only those with active tickets can ride. Technically, I didn’t have to purchase a ticket and could simply walk on, which raises security concerns. The city needs to improve its infrastructure, and enhancing public transit could help. Additionally, installing reader boards inside the train that display the next stop would be helpful, as it was difficult to hear the announcements clearly. The stations were also quite dirty, and there was a lack of security presence on either side. Thankfully, everyone seemed to keep to themselves.
