Tucked nicely between Mt. Trashmore and the country jail (that is also a homeless shelter with lotsa mentally unstable people) You'll find a marina that wishes it wasn't! They recently built condo's and apartments around the marina and it seems they only care about those residents. We have a VERY nice catamaran and are full time liveaboards. The marina has a beautiful pool and work out facility however, us "dirtbags" paying alot of money for our slip, aren't allowed to use them. The laundry room is a joke... Limited washer's and dryers and there is ALWAYS mechanical issues with the equipment so there's even less equipment to do the job. At all the other Marina's we've stayed at up and down the east coast, you rent a slip which allows you to obviously also enjoy your dock...not here... you basically get to tie your boat to the dock and that's it. Not allowed to park our electric bikes on it..they insist that you park all the way out front of the marina and tie your bike up to a rack where tons of other old and half stripped bikes are chained. We tried to explain that these bikes cost almost$3,000 each and that we used them for daily transportation to and from work. That doesn't matter...if your bike gets stripped or damaged, it's not their fault either. Rules are in place for a reason understandably...but here...the rules never end! They'll tow your car, motorcycle or scooter without hesitation explanation or warning!! 2 time's we were contacted by the Lady in the office telling us our credit card was declined... When in fact, the first time, the wrong cvc #'s we're entered and the second time the wrong experation date was entered. Pretty scary giving someone your personal information and they keep screwing it up. Bathrooms are disgusting to the point that we use our own bathroom on the boat. There have been instance's where homeless people from next door are able to sneak in and use our facility only to leave feces in the shower!!!! Women have walked into the bathroom only to find a homeless guy in there! If you need fuel or help docking... good luck!!! Nobody there to help you. The ship store is completely a joke! There are people in there who know absolutely NOTHING about boating. We reserved our slip months in advance before arriving only to find out that the slip they had us in wasn't big enough for our boat...we specifically told them we have a single screw catamaran with NO bow thrusters and needed room to maneuver. When we got here, they tried putting us in a slip that would be hard getting in and out of with perfect weather. Instead, we had to take another slip that cost an additional $400.00/ month! In addition, unlike all the other Marina's we've stayed at where sending and receiving mail is free..they actually charge you $20.00/ month for a mailbox!! Bad service, bad attitude, bad restrooms, no wifi, no access to facilities and treated like kid's! I would only recommend this place if you have no other choice...even then, I would recommend you keep moving on to someplace that...
Read moreFloating docks are awesome and the staff is great. Seeing the huge tarpon, sharks, and manatee is wonderful but parking a car is a nightmare and forget it if u have 2 cars. The bathrooms are not clean and downright scary considering there r ceiling tile missing by the women's shower stalls, and even though u pay to live there, the Charter company located above the marine shop acts like they are the only ones who are located there. Also, the cost for anything in the marine store is overpriced. But, if u r in the right spot, the views are great and u can't ask for quicker access...
Read moreThe worst Marina in Key West. Do not even consider mooring here for the Poker Run. Their "Creative Surcharges" will leave you wondering why you ever came to Key West... and rightly so. Kathy and Leslie play a game designed to extract money from all customers.
I rented a slip there for 3 years. Dont trust them. If you earned your money and are concerned with getting what you paid for... go some place else.
If you are ostentatiously wealthy and desire only to be seen amongst the unconcerned wealthy... you...
