Don’t waste your time going to this location. They don’t hire competent employees or managers.
I called this location on Friday at 4:20pm to ask what the cut off time was for selling clothes to avoid driving there and them being done buying for the day. I spoke to a young lady over the phone and she told me the cut off was 5pm. I drove to the store and made it in the store at 4:45pm. Immediately as I walk in the door, the girl at the counter (red locs) blurts out, “we’re done buying clothes for the day.”
I recognized her voice from the phone call and mentioned that it was not 5pm yet. She realizes that we spoke on the phone and said “5 people came in after you called and we’ve reached our limit for the day.” I explain that the whole point of me calling before arriving was to avoid being turned around upon arrival. She says she’s going to check with the lead to see if my items can be accepted.
I slightly overhear her explaining what happened to her lead, Ms. GG. GG comes over and immediately begins lying by saying “As I told you over the phone” I interrupt her and say “we didn’t speak on the phone, I spoke with the her (the previous girl).” She then begins to explain how they have a daily number of items they can accept. I ask why they didn’t mention this on the phone when I called, especially if they were nearing the maximum.
The previous girl then also lies and says “I tried to say that on the phone but you hung up before I could.” Again, that was I lie. I stated that I hung up the phone because I thanked her for the info, to which she replied, “you’re welcome, have a good day” and hung up the phone. She began to say “since she’s here, let’s go ahead and take her items.” GG refused to take the items even though, her employee failed to mention a daily max and they both lied to attempt to justify why they would not take the items.
Clearly, GG is a poor example of leadership and those under poor leadership will only follow the example given. No apology was given from either employee, which was expected since they both resorted to lying instead of taking accountability for the situation. What terrible...
Read moreI did not enjoy my experience here. I brought in three purses. Two that were Coach and one Adidas. The two Coach purse have only been worn twice and the little Adidas purse I never wore. They offered me 29.00 for them all. Only 29.00! Not a piece, which was still very much too low, but for three decent purses! Now mind you I'd been to that same location before where I had brought in two new Coach purses, however one I wore once the other I never wore it. They gave me 40.00 for the both of them, not a piece but only 40.00. Now I took that deal because I didn't need the purses and I could use the money for gas or food and what not. On the visit in question about the 29.00 I was appalled to say the least at being offered such a low amount of money for my goods. I kindly told the young lady behind the counter that I was paid more for two purses previously brought in but now your only offering me 29.00 for three fairly new purses? I told the young lady nevermind because I don't need the money and that I'd just take my items to a Christian thrift store for at least they could sell those purses for more money than that and actually use the money to help someone else. I will never go to any other Plato's closet ever again and I'd advise others not to as well unless your just desperate for the money. If you don't need the less cash that they are willing to give you for your beautiful items, then take those items to your local Goodwill or other thrift stores. I am not rich, however I went through a phase where I just wanted these purses and I bought them, now I'd like someone with more room for them to experience the joy of carrying them, so...
Read moreIt was at all female crew which isn't a problem usually it would have helped my experience a great deal if they were as conversational and pleasant with the guests as well as they are with each other, but that's my newt It wasn't a bad experience overall the young light skin girl I think maybe she's a supervisor or some form of manager she wasn't as pleasant as I would have liked for her to be I feel like they maybe play a little favoritism to customers who are there to buy something opposed to those of us, as I was, that were there to sell idk call it intuition but I just didn't feel the love with that being said my only real complaint is I brought a bag full of lightly worn name brand really nice things that I don't use anymore and they only selected one item from my bag which was these coach shoes and only paid me $15 for them which wouldn't have been a problem had I gotten prices for all my other nice things I also had to sell especially since I had to wait for them to analyze the contents of my bag which took about 45 minutes maybe an hour I thought I'd at least walk out with 50 bucks ... The girl at the counter had said that their location is slow at buying things at the moment because their store is so fully stocked and they've been slow lately although I couldn't tell based on how many sales associates they had on the floor at the same time.. I counted there were 7.. just saying on my next Plato's visit rest assured that I more than likely won't be missing that location again I should have went with the briarcliff location like I wanted to initially since both locations are the same distance from my house...
