Stowe Communications — Local services in Stowe

So far so good! Called to learn more about internet packages and prices and spoke with Brittany and she explained the packages and services available to my commercial office space on the Mountain Road in Stowe. 100 down and 20 up for about $125/month. Is it a bit pricey? Yes... but the other choices are ridiculously unreliable Consolidated Communications at $50/month for 25 down and 1 up, or $250/month for fiber - so it's priced fairly in the middle. We scheduled a date/time for installation and they showed up on the correct date and time-frame (wowowowow!). Customer service has so far been awesome and I loved the dudes (shout out to Ben and Lucas) who came to install the coax and the modem - very thorough and detail oriented, and they even used an escutcheon to cover the hole where the cable went through the wall - didn't expect that!!! I've only had internet now for one day, but I suppose that everything will be perfect and rainbows and unicorns will be flying out of the modem soon enough. I just called in to inquire on pricing for a potential new customer, a friend. Where I live, I get a basic but robust channel package plus 100 Megs download speed and DVR for $113/mo total, all tax & fees included. I asked the woman whether, as it appears on their website, the fee for 100 Megs of Internet ($126/mo) is just that....Internet only. Or, is it for a particular total cable/Internet package?

She said it's just Internet. When I expressed surprise, she went into "Take it or leave it" mode. I then told her sarcastically that she had a terrific customer service manner. I asked whether there are other cable providers in her area and she said yes and that I should call them. She was extremely rude and hung up on me in mid-sentence. (I hadn't threatened or yelled at her.) Unbelievable! I'll assume she's related to the owner because, were she my employee, I'd have fired her on the spot. Our normal rental house we've been coming to for over 10 years changed their internet provider this year and the new service could barely handle video playback much less two people who needed to be on Zoom at the same time for work. I went in the minute they were open and Brittney helped me figure out what package we would need and for how long and came up with a option that will be so easy to turn on again for next year when we're back. I was in and out in 15 minutes with an install scheduled for next day. Within a couple of hours got a call that they had an immediate opening and a few minutes later Shane the installer was there. He was great - got everything set up and working before he drove away. Now we can be meetings without any connection issues, stream on the TV, upload work projects and still have plenty of time to enjoy being in Vermont. The service we received...
