Michaels — Local services in Strongsville

Went there because they claimed on the internet they sold cotton rag paper, which I needed to make my wife a gift for our second wedding anniversary. It seemed entirely reasonable they would carry such a thing, considering the business they are in.

I stopped recently one evening and left my phone in the car, as I do sometimes. After spending 5-10 minutes looking for the paper myself, I figured I'd ask an employee to point me in the right direction. Unfortunately I asked a kid who'd only worked there for a week. No big deal. They were very pleasant and eager to help despite their not knowing themselves what it was I was looking for, which I appreciated.

What drew my ire was after the clerk put a call into their manager on duty, the manager had never heard of it either, and basically said "We mustn't have it", which is absurd, since cotton rag paper isn't a terribly obscure thing.

So I went back out to my car, got my phone, and after some finagling was able to find the isle the illusive kind of paper I was searching for was in.

While the new clerk was pleasant and I have no grievance with them, I was really put off that the supervisor didn't care to help either myself, the customer, or even the recent hire, successfully locate an item they did in fact have in the store.

As much as I dislike using Amazon, it is experiences like this that make me understand why so many people don't even bother going to big box shops like this anymore. I wouldn't have either had I not been on a deadline and will certainly think twice before patronizing a Michael's again...

A lot of lovely crafty, artsy, fun things! Prices are higher than Patcatans which is a common complaint from all the creative people I know. Anyways, I went in on a Monday to get a few mats cut. The associate didn’t seem very interested in helping me. She did explain that she was super busy with some high paying custom orders. I get it. She told me it would take 2 days for my mats to be completed because of the other orders ahead of me. She said she’d usually have time to do it while I waited but couldn’t today. Ok.. I get it. So I waited a couple days to get my very simple 3 mats cut and completed. Upon receiving my mats I was very disappointed. They were very sloppy with cut lines coming from the corners of the opening. One of the mats I had to shove into the frame to get in as it was slightly too large for the frame. I’m really upset because I waited 2 days for something that took them 5 minutes to make. I guess if you’re not spending tons of money on your framing needs you just don’t really matter. Go...

Get to the register, he asks me what I need it for I tell him. Has a worker help me, she does not leave my presence.. like if you showed me, explained , why won’t you walk away from me lol? She continues to hover me. I go in another isle to continue to look, I work a lot so I never really have time to shop so when I do go somewhere and see things I like I like to purchase random things.
