We planned a surprise for my mother and the receptionist confirmed they would not email her with confirmations of the appointment. They did end up emailing her and she was questioning what it was all about, which kind of ruined the surprise. The spa offered to call or email her and tell her they made a mistake, which we said was fine, but at this point it was very confusing for my mom. When we got there, the retreat room did not have enough heated neck towels in it for the four of us. The bathroom was out of hand towels too, we found them on our own. I said I wanted a medium strength massage and i got a very light strength massage. Another member of our party also said the massage was too light. During my massage the music stopped about ten minutes before the massage was over, that was weird. Also, I don't know how they timed anything because I was the last one from our party to start my massage and the very first one done. They offered tea and water at the end of my massage and I asked for tea. I got an ice cold cup of water, and then she made me get tea myself. I broke my compact mirror in the dressing room and told the receptionist right away. She said she would sweep it up and then continued to work and didn't get up to see (this is where people walk barefoot sometimes), so it should have had immediate attention. When we went to check out, they said we could pay for my mom dividing her bill onto our three credit cards. Then she said the system would not let her do it and we should put it on one credit card and "duke it out ourselves". I would rate it lower, but they did accommodate the four of us at the same time, and other...
Read moreI hate to write bad reviews but I had an absolutely disappointing experience. I originally wanted a body wrap but I have Tree nut allergies. I can't use anything with coconut or avocado. They had no substitutions for me to be able to get a body wrap. I then ask for a hot stone massage because that was close to the detox wrap that I wanted. Instead of rescheduling my appointment so I could get the service I asked for with a licensed massage therapist, They kept my appointment with the esthetician not qualified to do a hot stone massage. I found out because I asked the service provider to apply more pressure and she said it was out of her license. I called back to tell them personally my experience before writing this review. They confirmed that they did try to do their best to accommodate my appointment time but they should have rescheduled me. Their solution was to give me a $20 credit and a gift basket. I find that to be a pretty big slap in the face considering the service was over $100 and I didn't even receive what I asked for and I wasn't even scheduled with the license massage therapist. $20 barely covers tip. I also don't want a gift basket because I'm allergic to majority of their products that we found out above. I would be happy if they offered a hot stone massage complimentary because that's the service I asked for, paid for and didn't receive. I don't think I should have to pay another $100 just to give them a second chance with an actual licensed massage therapist this time. Make sure you get what...
Read moreIt was a relaxing spa day! They have a changing area and retreat room separate for women and men with lockers for belongings. They gave me a robe to use and the retreat room was comfortable with warm neck wraps and water or tea while I waited. The massage was great with Tyler. I did the relaxation one. Elena did my facial and head massage add on. I fell asleep for a portion of it which is an indication of how relaxing it was. It was my first time receiving a facial at Spavia and I would book again. They have shower to use after treatments to freshen up and wash the oils off.
The only con was that I could not find the hair dryer after showering. Upon booking, I was told they had one or I was free to bring my own. It was partially my fault as I should have looked before I showered to make sure they had one. At checkout, when I mentioned it to the receptionist she didn’t make an effort to help me locate it. I had to leave with wet hair in the wintertime. Just a reminder to staff to think of the little things like that. Overall great experience! I would just recommend that clients bring their own hair dryer or travel soap in case Spavia doesn’t have what is needed after treatments. No photos to share. Put that phone...
