Hi I have tried to call the shop and send an email about selling some of my personal items on consignment but I have not had any call back or response from my email. What is the best way to reach the store? The above was my comment from a week ago and I gave it a 3 star. Today 10/10/2023 I have edited my rating to one star and did not remove the above comment from a week ago but instead I have added this new comment about the business owner of The Collective.
One Star. Why? she was very unprofessional. I visited the store today because I still have not received any call back or email from the owner if I can sell my items. The owner was there and I politely asked if I can sell my items, she asked me if I had my stuff with me and I said I have to go back home and get it (I live in Summit) then she said what is your name? When I gave my name to her - she said I remember you, you gave me a 3 star review so I don't think we should do business.
I am not naive - I know business owners have the right to choose who they do business with and that is totally acceptable. No harm done there. BUT the way this owner handled her 3 star review was so unprofessional! I explained to her that the reason for the 3 star was the lack of communication on her side to reply back to me. I called and left her 2 voicemails and also sent her an email - she didn't reply to any of those and that is why I decided to stop by and talk to her isntead. I explained that I just wanted to know if I can sell my items at her shop, it is a consignment store and people drop off high ends items there which I have and wanted to sell.
She continued by asking me, but why would you want to do business with someone you gave 3 stars to? At this point I am looking at her facial expression and I am in shock and so turned off. The way this owner handled her customers reviews is so unprofessional.
She also claims that she sent me an email but she never did. I checked the spam folder and inbox and no email was received from her from my original message. She is unresponsive to inquiries (that why I gave her 3 stars then) now she is getting one star because she is unprofessional and honestly quite rude and thank goodness she doesn't want to do business with me! because I realized she is not someone I would even waste my money on.
So I know that this review will trigger something but this is an honest comment from someone who was just at her shop today and I - as a customer have the right to express my opinion and share...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at The Collective today. From the moment I entered, the shop keeper proved to be unhelpful, unwelcoming, and outright rude. I went in with my 8-month-old baby and teenage daughter. When we entered, the shop keeper asked "what we were there for." I assumed she wanted to help us find what we were searching for. I told her that I was trying to find an outfit for a party my daughter plans to attend. She then said "ok" and turned right around, giving me the impression that she was actually asking us what we were doing in the store! When I asked her how the clothing was organized, because I wanted to search for an outfit that would fit my daughter, she said "color and style" and then walked away again. It was so dismissive! She seemed so uninterested in helping us fine what we needed. When we went to leave, I had to take a moment to strap my baby into his stroller. I had left the stroller by the door (not blocking the door, but beside it) because it was wet from rain, and I didn't want to drag water through the store. My daughter waited beside me as I secured the stroller straps. Another woman wanted to enter and politely asked my daughter if she could squeeze by her to enter. The shop owner then called out from the back of the room "I'm sorry about that!" I cannot believe she had the gall to apologize to other customers about me while I was right there! It took me seconds to strap my son in, but she felt the need to say that! So rude and extremely inconsiderate to women who have young children! I am still shocked by the incident, and I sincerely hope that the shop keeper reevaluates how she interacts with customers that she doesn't personally know. Very...
Read moreI was excited to start my day looking at consignment stores so I arrived here a bit before 10am (open time) and waited outside the store. While I was outside the store owner/employee was confused about my standing there and asked me rudely to move so she could place clothing racks. Totally fine. I still waited. Then after 10am, 10:03, I asked if I can go in. This is when she states, “I don’t even know who you are.” Interesting considering most times customers will be first time, but maybe this store only accepts appointments, I don’t know because it was not advertised. Either way, I will not be returning because it did not seem like a welcoming or inviting place for...
