Ever since I was a young kid, I’ve loved visiting Spencer’s stores. Walking into Spencer’s at Sawgrass Mills Mall brings back all those nostalgic memories of shopping with my family. The whimsical and playful inventory always puts a smile on my face, just like it did back then. Spencer’s uniquely blends humor, novelty, and a bit of edginess into its products, making it a fun destination for people of all ages.

The T-shirt selections are always a highlight. Whether you’re looking for something hilarious, nostalgic, or just plain cool, Spencer’s has you covered. Today, I was particularly impressed by the clearance sale they had going on. There was a bin full of great items, and the best part was that if you bought one thing from that bin, you could get a second item from the same bin for just one dollar. It’s such a cool concept and really adds to the excitement of finding a good deal.

The store is well-organized, and the staff is friendly and helpful. They make the shopping experience enjoyable and are always ready to assist with finding specific items or answering any questions. The atmosphere is lively, and it’s easy to spend a lot of time just browsing through the various sections.

I was there last night Christmas shopping and I came across the lava lamps that had a sign by them saying "lava lamps $5 off" so thinking it was on discount I took a small one to the register to purchase it. The cashier was friendly and swiped my item and it came up to regular price so I asked him if it wasn't on the $5 off discount. He walked over and looked at the sign and came back and said yes it is on discount all lava lamps are $5 off. So he proceeds to call a manager over to take the discount off which took quite a while because there is no order in the store. The manger finally came over after like 15 mins I think his name was Omar (by the way this manger was yelling "it about to go down so y'all look out" to other employees when I first came in the store like if a fight was about to happen). When he came he just said that only the big lava lamps are $5 not the small ones in a really rude and unapologetic manner and then walked away. After an employee told me ALL lava lamps were on discount and had me waiting there for a while to get the discount, a nasty attitude and disappointment was the last thing I needed. This place is really unprofessional, especially in the way they communicate to both customers and employees. If the cashier had asked the manager if the small lamps were on discount before he confirmed it with me then that would be a different story but he told me it was for sure on discount, had me waiting, and then I got a disgusting attitude from the manager saying no discount. Malik greeted my family and I with open arms. Within 3 seconds he showed us appreciation as clients and explained the current promotions. This young man shared that he’s been working at the mall in various roles since 2011. He is the epitome of excellence and I hope management takes a hard look at promoting this young man as he can train everyone to create the right experience that can create loyalty. John also assisted and checked in on us. He was super bubbly and engaging. These 2 are gems that Spencer’s really needs to hold on to.
