A Beach Place Realty — Local services in Surf City

Updated on September 7/2022, in our efforts to further protect the general public, after seeing this ludicrous response from A Beach Place Realty:

We have been polite, and considerate, given the truly horrendous experience we had with your business and the rental property. We have also been very careful to make sure every word we posted was factual.

Unfortunately, you have now posted fiction in written form and have now added defamation to your list of unethical and fraudulent business practices.

Our family has been renting in Topsail for 30 years, and are law abiding citizens, with professional employment, who pay for their vacation every year. Your business has shown its true colors with your response to the false and defaming libelous post that we “brought a pet rat to our rental property to get a free vacation.”

It is a shame that this matter will now be handled by the Court system when it could have been resolved in a professional manner.

Original Post September 6, 2022 We checked in on Saturday afternoon and woke up Sunday to 2 half-eaten apples on the kitchen island. We immediately called A Beach Place Realty, they called back and left a message saying they would send an exterminator the next day. We called twice more asking for them to call us back, there was no call back and no offer to move us when it was clear there were rodents in the house. That night we set up a baby camera to see if we could determine what was in the house. and discovered huge rat(s), all over the kitchen, on counters, climbing up cabinets, Etc.

We called A Beach Place Realty immediately, stating we would not be returning to that house except for packing our things. They told us on the phone that they had received previous complaints and that the owners had tried to handle the problem themselves. They then told us they could move us Monday or Tuesday. We were forced to make other arrangements.

The next day, A Beach Place Realty said they would refund the 2 week rental cost. Our concern is that since they rented to us and knew there was an issue, they would rent the property to someone else. It was at this point they recanted their statement, and said they had no knowledge of any issues ever at the house.

When we checked their site the same house that we provided video evidence of having large rats in the kitchen, was already back up for rent the VERY next day after we had checked out.

Currently renting a house in Topsail, NC. Got the keys at 3pm and entered to no working AC. Called the realty company twice and they told me both times that someone was going to call me back to troubleshoot the issue.

No one ever called, and I flagged down a maintenance guy who was dispatched to replace our neighbor's broken toilet. He told me he was called to look at our AC and was surprised I was told someone was going to call me and never did. I called the office back and requested window units or something to give us relief for the night, as it is 95° outside and it's cooler outside than it is inside.

About an hour later they show up with one window unit and say give it an hour to cool the place off. Here it is 4 hours later and the place is still hotter than hell, and we notice they gave our neighbors 2 window units. Funny, because they only called about their toilets.

Called the emergency number for the reality and no answer. About 20 minutes after that they responded via text saying someone will come bring another window unit in 30 minutes. I responded by saying thank you, could you please bring 2 and the emergency number responded with a "thumbs up" emoji. So here we are 6 hours later, and no air conditioning.

Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed and upset with "A Beach Place Realty" in Topsail, NC, and I do not recommend renting a vacation home from them unless you plan on dying from heat stroke. [insert thumbs down emoji here].

I will update my review if I survive the night. I might have better luck pitching my tent...
