UPDATE:
The owner reached out to me and was very professional, very nice and apologetic for the Orange Chicken. He did provide a refund. While the chicken was horrible, I cannot fault the service. I appreciate that he reached out so I have changed my review from 1 star to 3. He does want to keep his customers happy. The other food was good so we will go back and give it another try.
Tonight I ordered the orange chicken to go and it was awful. When I opened the container it smelled old. Like it had been fried yesterday. Some of the pieces looked like they had been fried multiple times. It was hard and pieces of the chicken inside the breading were hard/crunchy. There was hardly any sauce. I told my husband to complain and try to get a refund. I had to throw it away and ate Ramen for dinner instead. Very disappointed. My husband wouldn't ask for a refund because of another review he read where the restaurant refused to give a refund. We won't be ordering food here again. Panda Express is better than this and I hate Panda Express because the food stays out under the heat lamps for hours. This was worse than that. I have to think it was this bad because it was take out. It would be embarrassing for any server to serve this inside...
Read moreCrazy prices, small portions, and strange pad Thai/pad see ew.
My wife and I ordered 3 dishes. Pad Thai, pad see ew, and Penang curry. The Penang curry was really good, a little heavy on the vegetables, but other wise super good. The pad Thai and pad see ew was very strange. They both had decent flavor but they were super watery (liquid-y, not water flavored).
Our biggest problem was the pricing and the portion sizes. My wife and I love Thai food, we moved into the area about 3 weeks ago and have tried 6 Thai places so far. Usually when we go out for Thai food we order Tom kha. This place has a small bowl (for 1 person) at 11-12$ (I don’t remember exactly) - FOR ONE SMALL BOWL. The sharing size (large) was $17.99. Now the problem of portions. Usually Thai food is around 10-14$ per entree item. This was true here. Each of the dishes we ordered were in that price range. The problem was this place is NOT family style. The curry came out in a little bowl. Each dish is made for one person. I have NEVER eaten at a Thai place that was not family style. This just made the price for each dish outrageous. So instead of it being a 14$ plate you could share, it’s a 14$ plate for just you. Our 3 plates of food came out...
Read moreThe food here is DELICIOUS! We stopped on our way back from San Diego because we felt like having Thai food and it did not disappoint. We’ve tasted lots of different Thai food places and this rates among the best.
UPDATE: Decided to pay another visit after trying this place once and enjoying the food and second experience was horrible! Went in and place was empty. Tried to sit in booth but lady refused to sit us because we were only two guests and they wanted to hold for bigger party, which ok I understand. She tried to move us to another two person table but was uncomfortably close to another party. We asked if we could sit at another two person table that was a bit further and lady refused to let us sit. She said she was also trying to hold that table for another potential customer that might show up later that evening. LADY WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE WE IF NOT CUSTOMERS OURSELVES?? She’s holding tables for other customers that aren’t even there yet???We could have eaten, left and others still not arrived. But whatever, we just left. Bad customer service and senseless thinking….refusing one customer that’s there ready to order for another that may not even...
