I dropped my snowboard off on a Tuesday in January for a repair and hot wax. They told me it would not be done until Friday night and that I could pick it up Saturday morning. (I was leaving for a trip Saturday Afternoon)
Dropped it off with one of the workers who was very nice and engaging and easy to work with. Don’t recall his name.
I came in Saturday morning to pick up my board since I was leaving a few hours later for my trip. There was no one in the store except the manager (his name I also don’t recall but he wears glasses and I am certain he’s the manager.)
Upon entering he asked me to come back in a 45 minutes (seriously ?!?!) because everything was done, however, they had to scrape off the wax from the hot wax they allegedly put on. Then I’d be good to go.
Seemed suspicious.
I asked to see the board because I had another question about the repair and I wanted to get some clarity on it.
To my surprise the hot wax the manager allegedly had to scrape off….was NOT put on, the repair was not done and my board was not worked on. Mind you it’s Saturday AM and I dropped off my board Tuesday.
When I said that “you have to acknowledge and see my frustration”, the manager told me:
“I have a lot of people coming in and I’m under the gun, do you want it done or not??!!”.
Despite his rudeness and arrogance, I was stuck because I was leaving for my trip. The job was completed in under an hour (while I waited in my car) and it was done well but the obnoxious attitude was totally unnecessary. That and of course lying that my board just needed to be scraped.
Won’t be using them again. And as a manager you should know better. Customer is always right, apologize and move on. Instead I received an attitude without an apology for my...
Read moreI went to Sundown yesterday with my girlfriend to purchase some skis that were put on hold for her from another location. Once we got there we waited around for a 10 minutes before someone came over to help. The young sales person who was very helpful told us that the skies that were on hold for us for $80 more than what we had been told at the other location. We proceed to tell him that we were quoted another price and if he could double check. He did and then came back and told us this was the price. We weren't taking that as a final answer. I asked if they were maybe on sale and there was a different sale price. He went to check with his manger. This short guy with a little goatee and a bad attitude. He said it loud enough for us to hear across the room " the price is the price i don't know what to tell them" with that i walked over to him and proceeded to tell him that if he wouldn't mind checking his sale list, he might be wrong. After he pulled out this little chat and tried to prove to me that i was wrong. He then realized that we were right and the skies were on sale and the $399 price quoted was correct. No apologize, no nothing. We came in and spent 400 plus dollars with tax and were treated terribly by the manger. I do not know how you can run a ski store in the winter time (prime season) where the mangers talk to you like this. i wouldn't go back to that location but if you do stay away...
Read moreWhatever you do, DO NOT buy anything in this store. If you decide to return it a day later (unused with tags on it) they will try to fight you tooth and nail.
I bought a pair of dc step on snowboard boots for my son. The guy price matched them from a sun and ski store in Plainview. Everything was great. We got home and my son tried them on again and changed his mind about the fit.
My wife attempted to bring them back the next day. The boots were unused with tags still on them. First they were obsessed with why she was returning them. They wouldn’t just accept he didn’t like them.
Then they tried to say they could only do store credit because it was a sale/clearance. This was a total lie. The boots are 2024. Just because you price matched them doesnt make them a sale/ clearance item. They harassed my wife repeatedly until she showed them the receipt that clearly states you have 7 days to return an item. But wait it’s not over.
They then tried to say they needed my card to process the refund. Again a total lie. They were obviously trying to make it harder for us to get our money. My wife says either give me the refund on my card or give me the cash back because it was a debit. After 20 minutes of haggling we finally got out money back.
I will never step foot in this store again. Just know that if you buy gear here they will give you a very hard time trying to get...
