I've frequented many a barbershop, but none compare to the uniqueness of Flippers Barber Shop in Troy. The moment you step through the door, you're welcomed by the friendly wagging tails of two adorable dogs, setting a tone of warm, casual comfort that permeates the entire establishment.
The staff at Flippers Barber Shop are always immaculately dressed, embodying the brand of a true gentleman's barbershop. They carry an air of sophistication, paired with an approachable demeanor, striking the perfect balance of professionalism and easygoing charm.
My stylist, Omar, hailing from Turkey, is an absolute craftsman. Despite the language gap, he exudes friendliness and is incredibly attentive. He listened carefully to my instructions, demonstrating not only his skill with scissors but also his dedication to ensuring his customers are satisfied. His proficiency in cutting hair is unmatched, providing me with one of the finest cuts I've ever had.
For questions outside of Omar's linguistic comfort zone, John is always on hand to provide advice and tips about haircare. His expertise and readiness to help contribute significantly to the overall customer experience.
True to any barbershop's essence, the banter is as casual and vibrant as any I've encountered, making for a lively and entertaining atmosphere. It's easy to feel like part of the family at Flippers.
On my subsequent visits, Omar has continued to excel in his services. To top off the superior haircut, he provided a Turkish massage and even cracked my neck - a first for me! The best advice I can give is to relax and let it happen. You'll leave feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the world.
In essence, Flippers Barber Shop delivers an unbeatable experience. The combination of a friendly environment, impeccably dressed and skilled barbers, and that extra mile they're willing to go for client satisfaction, truly sets them apart. Flippers Barber Shop is the quintessential gentlemen's barbershop experience - a cut...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing experience. This is the 3rd or 4th time I have gone here due to my Barber not being able to get me into a chair before I need a cut so I had Flipper's as a back-up. Unfortunately my Barber decided to move out of New York which is great for him and I'm super happy for him but bad for me lol. So I went to Flipper's today due to my brother-in-law going there to get a haircut and decided to get one myself. I called and set-up an appointment for 6:00 pm. I was super stoked they were able to get me into a chair pretty much last minute. They were so great & professional that they normally close at 7:00 pm but didn't rush through my cut and took their time so they actually didn't stop cutting hair (mine specifically) until around 7:30 pm. It made me feel like I wasn't a burden on top of the actual haircut being phenomenal work. I'm super happy with the final result plus the cut got the approval from my Wife who gives the final thumbs up for every haircut I get and for her she gave it 2 thumbs up. For some reason I want to say the gentleman who cut my hair, his name is Ryan (I think, I am so bad with names that I could be wrong lol) either way though, I will be going to Flipper's for now on with any future haircuts I get. I highly recommend going to Flipper's which is a clean, professional, and welcoming environment for anyone looking for a perfect haircut. My young nephew goes here and has a hard time sitting still but their patience is unmatched when it comes to...
Read moreI've been to this barbershop a few times before and I've usually had good experiences, but my most recent visit was a major letdown.
I had an appointment for 3 PM, and I got there about 10 minutes early thinking I wouldn't have to wait too long. Instead, they gave priority to a walk-in customer and I ended up waiting a frustrating 20 minutes for my turn.
Now, about the haircut itself, it was just awful. They trimmed the sides way too high, and I ended up looking like I had an egg-shaped head. I was so unhappy with it that I had to buzz off all my hair a few hours later. They tried to conceal the bad haircut with excessive hair product, but it couldn't hide the mess.
To make matters worse, the barber was rude. I don't mind small talk, but at least make it sincere. Instead, I got sarcastic responses like "awesome" or "cool," which really rubbed me the wrong way. I would've rather just had silence at that point.
To top it off, they've jacked up their prices from $25 to $30. Considering the terrible experience, this price hike doesn't seem to align with the level of...
