I bought a small $15 adaptor cable that didn’t end up working (no big deal) to try to get me by with my stock radio until I had them install a new system. When I went in the next morning to see if I could get the $15 to go towards the stereo since I threw away the box. The owner accused me of bringing in a different cable. I would totally understand if he just said no to the return since I hadn’t had a receipt or box, but accusing me of lying about such a small expense seemed really weird. Especially since he was right there when I purchased the cable the day before at 4:00pm. Any ways, the employees seemed like nice guys, Colin was extremely helpful with the quote for my trucks stereo system. The owner lost a $1,200 job because he accused me of lying when I would have been totally fine with him just saying he can’t take it back. I won’t go back, I’d recommend others steer...

I contacted them to rewire my rear dash cam because my puppy chewed wire. They told me there was a $65 charge whether they could fix it or not. Jordan told me that it’s for his time to figure out if he can fix it, I declined and went elsewhere. The other company told me it’s not repairable and I need to buy a new one…the replacement was LESS than Carlson’s fee not to be able to fix it! With the other company there was 0 no question whether or not it could be repaired, but Carlson’s electronics was willing to charge me and then tell me they couldn’t fix it. As an electronic company that does wiring , they certainly must have known they were not able to repair it rather than being honest, telling a senior citizen, they could not repair it. I’ve been living in truckee for 16 years and I always puppy the local businesses but be careful going here it’s hit and miss ! I asked if they could remove my alarm system from my 3rd gen Toyota 4Runner . They lied to me and said it was removed. I find out later that it was not removed . They did remove my remote fob key ! Now the alarm goes off when I manually unlock my truck and I have no way to shut it off except by putting the key in the ignition. To say the least it’s been a pain in the arse! They deny everything and say they did remove the alarm system! Anyways they said bring it in for 185 per hour we will take a look .. ugh ! I’m not willing to pay them...
