My group was excited to hit up a burger spot on my last vacation night. I came with a party of 7, so we did order a ton of food. I will say that while I was annoyed the burgers did not come with fries, their menu was on the cheaper side compared to other spots around here. I still strongly believe the burger should include fries, but they minimized that problem as I did eat enough to fill up. I ordered the elk NV burger which was a disappointed. I ordered the burger medium rare and you can tell by the picture that is not medium rare. That burger was more dry than this joke ha ha ha. Not juicy at all, overcooked and the bacon on the burger was better than the actual beef patty. We got a lot of fries, and they were alright. I prefer the regular fries to the sweet potato, but I enjoyed both. The burger really was a let down, and they missed a part of the order forgetting one of the children’s grilled cheese sandwiches. We did not get to correct this because we had takeout and didn’t see there was an item missing until getting to the hotel which was a bit of a drive. This was upsetting of course because a kid did not get her meal so we all shared in order to make up. The fries were decent but not enough to make up for the overcooked burger and missed item. The onion rings were okay but did not have much flavor, I didn’t even care to finish them. Overall, kind of disappointing and the group I was with agreed. I wouldn’t recommend coming here; there are other options for burgers around the area. The atmosphere was not all that great either with next to no seating, but this may be more of a takeout place who knows. We also ordered the chocolate and vanilla shakes;; I got to try the vanilla one which was alright, but I am typically more of a chocolate fan. The place has the prices to be a reasonably good spot, but they did not deliver on the quality part which is why they get...
Read moreI finally had the chance to visit BurgerMe in Truckee and try their famous Cowboy Burger, and let me just say—it absolutely lived up to the hype. Located right on the main street in the heart of Truckee’s historic downtown, the place already has an inviting vibe. The moment I walked in, I noticed how full it was, which for me is always a sign that the food is both popular and consistently good.
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, even though they were clearly busy handling a big crowd. They made sure everyone felt taken care of, which added a really positive touch to the whole experience.
Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the Cowboy Burger. This burger comes stacked with bacon, crispy onion, jalapeños, fresh lettuce, juicy tomato, BBQ sauce, smoked cheddar, all nestled in a soft brioche bun. The flavor combination was bold and layered—the cheddar and bacon paired perfectly with the sweetness of the BBQ sauce and the slight kick from the jalapeños. The crispy onions added just the right crunch.
One thing I really appreciated was that BurgerMe lets you choose the doneness of your patty, which shows they care about tailoring the burger to your taste. Mine came out perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful.
Overall, the experience felt like more than just grabbing a burger—it was the atmosphere, the energy of the place, and the kindness of the staff. If you’re in Truckee and craving something hearty and flavorful, the Cowboy Burger at BurgerMe...
Read moreSo disappointed in my visit today. Let me start by saying that I first went to Burger Me not long after it was featured on Diners Driveins and Dives. The food and staff were both excellent. Since then I've been there a few times and it was equally as good. Today though was another storey. I odered online and the app told me my order would be ready at 205pm. So I showed up at 205pm on the dot. My food was not ready, in fact they hadn't even started on it yet. At 219pm they gave me my food. I checked the bag real quick to make sure everything was there. Nope. I ordered two kids meals, which come with fries. No fries. Is it really that hard to read a ticket and put tge items listed on it in the bag? Must be. So I sorted that out and went out to the car so the family could eat. When we gave the kids their hamburgers we were shocked. What was supposed to be a hambuger from a fancy hamburger joint was instead two halves of a soggy bun with a frozen cooked patty covered in grease in between. It looked like they stepped on it after they put it together. In my life I've NEVER seen such a sad excuse for a burger. Not even sixth grade cafeteria food could be that bad. And they were 5.00 each. I got the bison burger. It was dry, and overcooked to the point of tasting burnt. The wife got the cowboy burger. She said it was ok. Feeling totally ripped off for 42 bucks. We'll not EVER be going...
