Technical Equipment Cleaners — Local services in Truckee

Highly recommended for coat and outerwear cleaning. Recommended for technical equipment cleaning with some caveats. I brought in a very dirty Dana Designs pack, and while the cleaning on the outside was quite impressive, the inside left a lot to be desired. After several less than pleasant interactions both with the initial employee and then the owner (in reaction to my initial review) I brought the pack back in and the owner described why the urethane was shedding, apologized that not enough had been done to clean that and other parts of the interior, and took the bag back in with much better results the second time around. I can only recommend cleaning outside of outerwear if you're very specific with what needs to be cleaned AND the owner is there ar pickup so you don't get the same sarcastic and bordering rude reaction to my issues from the employee...

But they do more than just the standard stuff. If you have some random piece of kit that needs a little engineering either to repair or get working again, this is your place.

When you pick it up Daniel will explain- usually in great detail- exactly what they did, how they did it, and why they did it.

Even if you just feel like stopping by and chatting, Daniel is good at that too. I actually think he'd make a killing on Jeopardy. But I digress...

Started taking my stuff here when a chair at alpine spit oil all over me. Alpine meadows was nice enough to pick up the tab but more importantly I discovered this gem. The dude who runs and owns the store is Daniel and he's as friendly of a guy as you could come across. I had a ten year old down jacket I over but was dingy, stained, zippers were failing, Velcro was shot and some of the stitching was coming undone. I didn't thinking there was much hope for the ole' girl but when I got it back from. TEC it was as good as the day I bought it.
