We recently went here on a slow night. We comprised the 3rd table they had with the other 2 tables already having been served their food. We only ordered 3 small items: Panang curry, brown rice and a side of chili paste. We both adore Thai food and have eaten it well over one hundred times. We've even gone to Thailand so are more than familiar with what to expect of Thai cuisine.
What was kind of gross is that the place is really small and our waitress had her mask hovering at her lips. Our curry was so watery we could not eat it with a fork. My husband described the consistency of the curry as orange juice and I found it to be more of a soup. The curry was also devoid of any vegetables minus 3 pieces of broccoli. We had to ask for spoons in order to eat the "curry-soup," and my husband asked a knife as he had just had some dental work done and need to cut the broccoli into smaller pieces. The waitress bellowed aloud 'a knife,' in an incredulous way, which I thought was unnecessary. The waitress wasn't paying attention so served us white rice, not what we ordered, and never brought us our the chili sauce either. The waitress was doing her best to convince us that all curries have the same watery consistency, which they don't. On a scale of 1-10 with the curry, I'd give it a 4.5. We were starving so ate it but won't be back. Oh and yes, they serve their food on paper plates so there's that to their 'dining experience.' There is another Thai restaurant over at The Rock called "Thai Delicacy" that is head and shoulders much better than this place.
Anyway, this place has been without question a miss for us because prior to this poor experience, we've tried coming here twice and they closed earlier than their posted hours on...
Read moreI live and work here in Truckee, and was frequently ordering lunch (to go), maybe once a week. I picked up a $10 lunch special (Red Curry) and took it back to work to eat, and something had gone wrong. It had no flavor, and was more of a yellow color than red. I called immediately to let them know, and asked if they could just re-make the curry and I would drive back to pick-up. The girl on the phone said she could not do anything for me because the owner wasn't there. Nothing. I left my name and number, the owner never calls me back. I go into the restaurant the next day, and ask them to please just replace the meal, that's all I was asking for. The owner said it was my fault for not coming back right away, that I don't understand what red curry looks like or tastes like, and I was given a very stern lecture in front of all the people eating at the restaurant, until the owner finally agreed to replace the meal and handed me the $10 red curry lunch special, reluctantly. I can't give these people my hard earned money if this is how they react to a simple request. You probably...
Read moreWe arrived at the restaurant around 4.15pm and was going to wait since they don't open until 4.30pm, but some people came around 4.20 and was trying to see inside. Then lady came to the door and open the place. We went in and order 3 main entrees. One was pineapple fried rice which was one of the better ones I have tasted anywhere, 2nd one was hangover noodles which is similar to drunken noodles. We choose beef but they were tough. Lastly we order shrimp tempura yellow curry. I think it lighted tart better if it was just sauteed. But it really tasted good. My wife got done early and I was still chucking along, I am a slow eater, they keep asking if we were done. ㅋㅋㅋ. It was just me n wife. Of course we had left overs which I planned it from beginning. I asked for a container of whiter rice to go. We are staying at the villege and left over is good. It was better than I thought...
