Pro's: 1)The view is nice. 2)walking distance from 4th Ave/Congress.
Con's: When i first moved in about a year ago, the former manager , a man named Robert, would accept money order payments but would not give a receipt claiming that it was illegal to do so. I knew that was nonsense but hadn't yet set up my online account, so I had no choice but to pay my rent with a money order and keep my own records. Maintenance requests were regularly ignored.
Since MEB has taken over at Redondo Tower, things have not improved, but trade-offs have been made. Maintenance requests are regularly ignored, and sometimes, people enter your home without permission. I reported 2 broken faucets (one in each bathroom). On the work order, i selected the box indicating permission to enter. After weeks went by, I sent an email asking why there had been no repair. I was told by the current management that no repairs had been made because I had not given permission for maintenance to enter. I checked the smart home app, which is connected to the smart locks, and saw that someone had entered my home while i was at work.
So the office did eneter my home, which ( according to Angelica, the current manager) they did not have permission to do, and failed to make the requested repairs. After i brought my concerns to the office personally, I came home to find that one broken faucet was replaced with a new faucet, while the other was replaced, with the faucet that had been replaced. (It sounds like i got something confused, but no. They literally took one broken faucet from a bathroom and put it in the other bathroom in place of that broken faucet.)
The water is shut off frequently, and residents are not always given notice. Months ago, there was an ongoing project to replace some old pipes, and it was understandable that maintenance had to be done. During that time, there were weekly notices with scheduled times that the water would be shut off, but eventually, the office posted paper notices around the building stating that the project would soon be finished.
After that, the water would continue to be shut off sometimes with notice, but regularly, without.
When concerns are brought to the office, they are regularly meat with a passive-aggresive attitude and sometimes blame towards the resident. (As if wanting to shower or flush the toilet on a regular basis or being prepared to adjust your schedule accordingly is irrational.)
They offer a valet trash service, which is free, unless you are at work or out during the trash collection hours. If you happen to leave your empty receptacle out outside of the permitted time, you will be charged. Because I work during the trash collection time, I am excluded from using this service, and I was told by Angelica via email that she would gladly place my trash can inside for me...
I reminded her that she does not have permission to enter my home.
Management seems to verry much have a 'smile to your face, stab you in the back' attitude. As I mentioned, they are either passive-aggresive or they are extremely friendly while assuring you things will be addressed that either never are or are not addressed correctly or efficiently.
I'm moving out of this place and can only say that my experience living here has been regrettable. The building and location have a lot of potential, and I had high hopes. Alas, my hopes...
Read moreHello everyone, I’ve been living here for nearly 3 years now and on the end of February 2024 I moved to a renovated apartment. I had a plane to catch on the 22nd of May , on the 21st, one day before my flight, I literally woke up to the manager being in my bedroom telling me that I need to wake up because my apartment was flooded with water (the water was coming out of the toilet so imagine how awful the place smelled). I had my luggage packed and everything because I had a flight the next day and everything was totally soaked and destroyed. I had to go and buy new bags the same day. mind you, we had an agreement that the work they had to do in the bathroom was going to be done after I leave to travel. plus they left the apartment before 5pm and the bathroom was looking absolutely ridiculous, it had brown stuff, toilet paper, and water all over the place. i had to ask them to get rid of the carpet in my living room, that’s how bad it was. moving forward to the day i came back to tucson for another surprise. i came back home and the washing machine wasn’t turning on at all, and other things had the same problem as well so basically there were a few things that were not working. I had to wait for a whole week until someone finally decided to notice my existence. I literally had to go and ask them to fix it more than once because uni was about to start in a week and i need to wash my clothes and i refuse to wash my clothes in the facility, im not paying 1700-1800$ a month to wash my clothes downstairs, thats absolutely ridiculous. after a week, they came to my apartment and told me that there were some issues in the building after the storm and i understand, thats no ones fault, but explain to me why when the maintenance guy came in and asked me about the washing machine as soon as i told him what the issue is all he had to do was to click on the start button and it worked immediately like i didnt try to do that already. these people had me looking absolutely stupid, they fixed the issue before even getting in my apartment and told me there was some kind of switch turned off so they turned it on and came upstairs to check if it worked. ridiculous. now, my dishwasher hasnt been working for a month. this happened back in september, i asked for maintenance and it came in time, the maintenance guy said that he’s going to order a piece so he could change it and the problem would be solved. now its october 16th, after two maintenance requests i decided to go to the leasing office myself to ask about this unattainable dishwasher piece that took over a month to arrive and guess what? i was told that they JUST ORDERED IT and when i asked how long is it going to take to arrive they said TOMORROW. funny cause where were yall literally a month ago??? EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT AM I PAYING $1800 a month for???? im speechless. i’ve been here for 3 years and never had to wait for two days for maintenance to come and check the issues i had in my apartment they were respecting me as a resident, my time, and comfort but now its the total opposite and its absolutely disappointing. absolutely...
Read moreUpdate: “A New Destiny” I really enjoy living here right at the edge of downtown. They just built out a gym. I’m super excited to work out in and with the renovations the place is really starting to look fantastic. As always, there’s room for improvement, but renovations have been coming along, and it seems as though things have changed for the better around here. Especially with Management I wanted to give a shout out to our new apartment manager Destiny who has been a breath of fresh air since our most recent manager. She is fantastic with communication, keeping us updated and being sympathetic to whatever is going on here in our lives or within the community. Now if we can get a digital code installed for the lobby, front door things will be even better. Currently we have new move-in’s that tend to prop doors open all around this building. I feel that with an entry code installed that will alleviate some of that concern. However, I would like to recommend this place as a great place to live!
Recent update for my review of living here at Redondo Tower going on our second year. “The Towers New Beginning”
Through this process of renovating the apartments MEB sold the apartments to a new company during this time it was a option to take the opportunity and transfer to a renovated apartment as it became available and our lease was ending. So we moved from one apartment to another. So many changes around here as the apartments are all getting finished renovated, since they’re finally coming to a conclusion in renovations the water is still being shut off every Thursday, fortunately, we do get a email or text message to notify us as this happens every week to but it’s not nearly as bad as it was when we first moved in. With the new company Northstar that has taken over it has been quite rocky during the transition, Katie the new office manager has been an additional blessing after having the amazing Destiny come in turn things around and leave us like Mary Poppins. Continuing the hard work Destiny was taking on so effortlessly. This new review is especially for Katie for having such a great report, dealing with the transition elegantly and professionally with all of us tenants knowing our names in such short amount of time. Meeting so many people coming to her with pre-existing problems and putting them out like wildfire.
In other news here at Redondo Tower, the gym is finally finished. It is beautiful. It’s a lot nicer than I thought it would be decked out with really great equipment you could really make some real gains in there. We really love our renovated apartment. It has a washer and dryer dishwasher a much larger refrigerator than the old apartment. We also have a new Maintanace team Jorge and Donna, whom anre also just as fantastic. You can tell a big difference and you wouldn’t recognize this place. The hallways are clean, elevators clean restrooms are clean floors are clean all because of Donna. Jorge waste no time getting to maintenance request and actually fixes them instead of puts a Band-Aid on things, allowing it to get...
