Disclaimer: they don't even deserve 1 star.
Anyways, I moved to la Entrada in January, 2015. I was living in Oklahoma, but I decided to move back to Tucson to finish school. I found this place online, and all the pictures of the apartments and grounds looked nice, so after speaking with the manager, I decided to get a 3 bedroom for me and my daughter. I get to Tucson, sign my lease and then I get the keys. When I walked into the apartment for the first time, I thought that the manager accidentally gave me the wrong apartment because it was completely filthy. The stove was filthy and looked like someone had just baked a cow in it, the floors were so black that it might've been used as a car garage. The toilets had mold in them, and no lie, the dishwasher still had dishes in it and a random paint brush. There were also so many ants in that kitchen, the apartment could've been used to film that movie "Antz." The carpets were extremely filthy, and there was a giant red stain right in the middle of the living room. I had to buy a big rig to cover it up. I went back to the office to speak to the manager about it, and she got pissed me at me and told me that if I didn't like it that I should've moved down to Tucson earlier so I could view apartments, and then she said that I had already signed the lease so she couldn't make any changes. This was all within the first 30 minutes of me signing the lease.
After I finally move in, things were ok for some time, but then everything started falling apart. I had problems with everything.
Bathtub: The bathtub upstairs started leaking, so I put in a work order, and they actually never came. We had to take baths and showers the whole time we lived there in the bathroom downstairs.
Toilets: The toilets were the worst! Other than the toilets being extremely tiny, like elf size, the toilet downstairs had mold in it, and I would clean it out with a stone but the mold wouldn't go away and it left the toilet black. I put in a work order for toilet, and the maintenance man came and just scrubbed it with a stone, which is what I was doing, so the problem was never fixed. My daughter is allergic to mold, so she was constantly having asthma attacks, but they didn't care.
A/C: In the middle of July, my A/C went out, so it was like 100 degrees in my apartment. The office was still open, so I put in an emergency work order because it was too hot to be in the apartment without the A\C working. The manger said she couldn't get anyone to do it the same day, but that someone would come the next day. They actually came 3 days later and it took me 5 minutes to fix it.
I could go on and on but I'm running out of space, so I'll talk about other issues.
I had a $700 bike that was locked up, and someone cut my lock off and stole my bike. When I noticed it stolen, I spoke to the security guard, and after telling him what happened, he told me that he wasn't there to protect bikes, so I needed to call the cops. Also, the "sparkling pool" they claim to have is a lie. That pool is filthy and was never cleaned. In the whole year I lived there, I never used it once because it was nasty. The grounds crew is lazy, so there was trash everywhere.
The worse part was renewing my lease. I didn't like the apartments, but since I liked the location, I decided to stay. However, a month before moving, the manager tells me that my rent went up from $1030 to $1380. That's insane! Normally apartments go up like $20- $50 when you renew your lease; not $350. Anyways, I decided to move. We spent 2 days scrubbing down the apartment, and when I went to hand in my keys, they didn't have time for a walk through, but instead, I get a letter saying I owe them $600 for rent, cleaning and carpet. I never paid my rent late, and I left that place 10x cleaner than when I moved in.
Whatever you do, do not move in here. Great location, but they run this place like it's in the middle of the hood. I'm a disabled veteran, but I was a great tenant. Charging me $600 after I left was wrong, and they'll do the same to...
Read moreWe are SO GRATEFUL to have found these apartments, it filled all our needs and while in the upper end of our budget... was still in budget so we moved in! The layout of our two bed two bath is perfect, nice and cool because it is on the lower level, and the air conditioning works really well! The renovations are perfect, floors are timber laminate with white ceiling and light walls it is super easy to decorate. All new appliances look great and work great. The maintenance team helped me install curtains and a picture ledge and are very easy going to help make this really homely.
The MEB team are super helpful and answered all our questions, and responded very quickly to the few maintenance requests we put in. Veronica, Adriana and Sharon know all the residents and are always up for a chat as well as to help with whatever you need. They even host some community events, where we have made some really good friends through. If you are from out of town, it is easy to meet people, no kids and families that I have seen here, but I have met a lot of young professionals with dogs.
The new pool area has loads of furniture so lots of people can use it at the same time. Since it opened in July, it have felt like resort living! We have used the grill multiple times and it is linked to gas pipes so don't have to worry about running out of propane. All the residents and maintenance team have kept the area super clean and great to be around!
THE DOG PARK is the absolute best! They keep it super green every day watering it so at night it is wet and during the day doesn't burn! They have even put seating in, and the dogs just love having a place to be off leash and able to roll in real grass... quite the luxury for the Desert!
I don't have to talk about the location, because everyone knows there is nothing to compare, it is such a unique lifestyle having all the amenities AND being a few blocks from the city and Trolley/Tram. The downtown lifestyle is really cool, and will change your whole life for the better living in such a good location. My husband and I also only need one car because the location is so good!
It is clear the owners put a lot of thought and effort into making these apartments livable and going above expectations. Renovating and putting in new amenities like the dog park, fire pit, bike racks etc without prompting but just because they want...
Read moreFirst off, they have an algorithm that produces the rent of each apartment and it changes DAILY. If you see an apartment for $2000 and want to look into it, you have to pay a deposit to keep that price or else it is subject to changes and will likely increase. Even if you wait several days or a week it may be $2050 or $2100. Also that deposit is completely separate from any deposit you pay for rent so it only helps secure the price that you saw it as for a limited time.
We had issues with our neighbors throwing their cigarette buds in front of our door but any time we brought it up to management, they told us unless it was caught on cameras they couldn’t do anything besides have someone come around to clean them up, which they rarely did anyways. The cigarette buds count as littering and should have been handled as such.
The pool and therefore the gym were always on constant maintenance so if you got out of work after 6pm or had work early and wanted to go before, it sucks for you because you had to go buy the hours of the office.
Lastly, when we eventually moved out we never got out deposit back and in tact had to pay back stuff because they had $100 worth of vacuuming and other bogus amounts for basic things we already did before we moved out. Also there is only one room with a carpet so they paid $100 dollars for someone to go in a square room for probably 15 minutes, which of course would waste the deposit.
The only reason why i gave two stars instead of one was because the maintenance people were very nice and always helped with our issues as best as possible, unlike the ladies in the office, who would look at value instead...
