Once again, Tyler gets the short end of the stick. I have shopped at HomeGoods all over the country and the new one at the Broadway Plaza is the smallest in square footage and has the smallest inventory of any HomeGoods I have ever seen. For example, the gourmet food and the candle sections are less than 1/2 the size of any normal HomeGoods store and the products are spread apart to give the appearance of full shelves when they could, in fact, be put together as in most stores but that would only fill half the shelves. The glassware and decorating items are quite generic without any of the unique or designer items found in the other stores. It really looks the they just cobbled together the items that were not wanted in the larger stores and put them there in Tyler where they thought the people would fall all over themselves.
Well, they guessed wrong! At 5 minutes before opening, there was a line of shoppers waiting to go in that stretched to the end of the building. After entering, I watched 75% of them leave without making a single purchase.
For a shopping population of almost 300,000 people in Smith, Cherokee and other nearby counties, the Tyler chain stores continue to shortchange us with inferior merchandise. I will never go to this store again and will instead drive two hours to Dallas where the HomeGoods stores are large and...
Read moreA great experience today at HG today! If you want exceptional & friendly customer service & great prices then shop at HomeGoods!!! FOUR times today an employee helped me! My hands were full as I headed back to the front door for a cart. I'd come in to look for a desk & spices. An employee saw me & said she'd bring me a cart. I'm using a walker & I'm a Senior Citizen so I really appreciated her help. Her told me her name, Linda, and said if I needed anything else to please let her know. As I headed towards check out I asked where the restrooms were. It was Linda! She offered to put my cart to the side (even put a hold tag on it) while I went back to the Very Clean restroom. At checkout the friendly woman asked "would you like me to come around to assist you in taking things out of the cart"? WOW, that was unexpected and very kind of her to offer, but not needed. As I was leaving the store Linda was in the Lobby, and she asked if she could follow me to my car with the cart! The young man bringing carts in approached to take over. Yet she said she was fine. Linda loaded the bags & put the Walker in the trunk! I thanked her so much and introduced myself. Come to find out, Linda is the Store Manager! I will be letting her manager know of this stores service! I sure plan to...
Read moreI had so much fun shopping the holiday decor. It was difficult to stay within my budget. I purchased one incorrect item and returned it without any fuss. The only fault that I found with the store was that the isles were too small. As one other shopper put it, "Each isle is only wide enough for one person and there is already one associate restocking on it." Items are good quality and seem to be appropriately priced. FRIENDLY...
