Probably one of the few grocery stores you can have a craft beer while doing your shopping. This is the place you go when you need some exotic spice or off the wall ingredient. If they dont have it I doubt you will find it anywhere else in the city. They also have very fresh seafood and their bakery is complete torture because you want to eat everything. So many wonderful and delicious items. I've gone in and they have had cucumbers that are twice the size you get at other stores.
Prices for staple items are usually a little bit more but I dont usually do my regular shopping here. You go because you have a craving for that ethnic dish you love and you can find all of the hard to find ingredients right there. I couldn't believe the manner in wich he was approached by the employee's . News flash! Just because someone doesn't speak English as a first language doesn't mean they don't want to spend money. I witnessed this myself as well as experienced it. It was his decision to shop somewhere else. And when he explained it to me. I told him that I heard the way and the tone of voice that was used. You will be VERY pressed to not find even the weirdest, rare, or item from another country that you are shopping too here. The staff are beyond exceptional and I now see why people make day trips to here from even as far away as Indianapolis. I grew up a few miles from the 1st location in Fairfield, and loved it......i now live 90 minutes from the Fairfield one, 40 from the Eastgate one, and this is where i drive too to do almost all of my grocery shopping.....even when there is a joke of a kroger's 7...
