For a thrifty guy like myself, I love places where I can find items for a low price. Overstock Guys fills that need in my life. They sell store returns from mainly Amazon. Items are from every category. I have found things such as CDs, Automobile accessories, video game controllers, Hello Kitty figures, plush dolls, phone cases, for example. Most items are brand new but there are some packages that you can tell were opened and taped closed so they might not be complete. Other items seen there are boxed food items that are near or slightly past their "best used by" date. There are usually 12 - 16 tables, about the size and height of a pool table placed in rows and all the items for sale are randomly dumped on the tables.
When you enter the store, there is a large sign describing the prices for each day if the week they are open (closed on Mondays) on the wall. Every item is the same price no matter how big or how small the item is. Saturdays are the restock day when all items are $5. Saturdays have the largest amount of items. Sunday the price reduces to $4, Tuesday it's $3, Wednesday is $2, Thursday is $1, and on Fridays everything you can fit in a bag is $25. An automatic Hand Sanitizer station greets you before you and 2 large metal bins filled with large reusable plastic shopping bags for you to use for shopping (there are no carts). Once done shopping, you bring your bag full of items to the front of the store and pay.
You never know what you're going to get and that can be a challenge but you will most likely find a few items at a good price despite the day you go. I recommend visiting Overstock Guys at least once or twice. It is a fun experience. I you love rummage sales and shopping in generally, you will probably...
Read moreWent on a whim in lieu of thrift shopping; was actually cheaper than a thrift store and had more stuff that I would be interested in than any usual thrift store. Mostly new, it seemed. Mostly smaller items (I’d imagine days where they have the most stock is also days with the biggest items). I was politely greeted when I walked in. I got a leather phone case for $2, that would usually sell for $20 on Amazon. I didn’t pay attention to the big “do NOT open packaging” sign, so when I opened it to try it on, an employee politely asked me to take it up to a table in the middle of the store to do so. Checkout up front was fast. Overall very simple visit, no hassle, just not a traditional store/consignment/wholesale shop. I’d compare it to a Goodwill Overstock store or the St Vincent DePaul in St. Bernard. Except (generally)...
Read moreReviews about the owner being Angry are very valid. Have had several instances with the owner being disrespectful so I could give him the most amount of my money on a weekly basis. The tipping point for him today is when he had a 10 lb product sitting in a ripped open, broken bag of seram wrap thick plastic. I took it over to the box opening station to get it into better box or bag before it continued to get destroyed. I couldn’t even look up before the owner who follows me around every Saturday said I’m disrespecting the store by trying to keep his products from flying around loose in the store. Highly do not recommend. Owner will clearly disregard the rest of the store to harass people he has personal issues with. As the owner will tell you, there’s plenty of other stores, take your...
