Went to find out about their custom framing with my wife. Walked to the back of store where department is, but nobody around. No way to notify an employee visible in the area as well. Peeked in back room, empty. So after several minutes waiting, another couple showed up, made small talk with them for about 5 minutes as all 4 of us wandered around the framing area. Finally decided I needed to go actually find an employee, since for the 10-15 minutes I've been in store, hadn't actually seen one. Was Able to locate an employee up front. Told them they had multiple people milling around the framing area that would like assistance. Informed that manager that was supposed to be in that department was busy with shipping and receiving, but someone would be with us shortly. I went back to the department, and waited several more minutes until employee showed up, but was told they had one quick thing to do, and would with us shortly. They came back a few minutes later and assisted us. Oh, and a second employee (the one that I talked to at front of store) showed up less than a minute later to help...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent there the first time to get illustration board and had never used it before, so I had no idea except to get cold press illustration board for my class. An associate was very helpful and showed me where it was. So I went to class to find out my anal teacher wanted a different kind, so I had to go back. I asked an older associate in the frame dept and she was so kind, directed me to the same place the other associate did. I don't blame her, she said she knew nothing about them either. Then she tries to ask her manager, who looks like a witch and acts like one too. The manager doesn't even let her or me complete our question on how to get this thicker illustration board and snaps on us. "It's over there!" Pointing at the same place we were at. The manager was so unprofessional! I work in retail and I have have never let my anger or frustration out on fellow employees or customers. That's part of the job in retail and it wasn't by like we were being rude or anything. We were asking politely! Everyone else in that store is so nice, but the witch needs some more training in how to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve shopped various Michaels for several years. Mostly good experiences but I feel something is off these days. The installation of self-checkout stations has been a rocky experience for meā¦maybe I also just miss the nice ladies who helped me out in the past. Last few visits Iāve had to wait several minutes for help at the checkouts and the new self-checkout stations have been confusing, and Iām usually fine navigating tech at stores. And they should try to make as-is items scannable at checkoutā¦unsure why it is not doable (if there was a physical person at the checkout this probably would not be a thing). I am also not a fan that there are coupons for online only and wont be accepted in-storeā¦it doesnāt make sense to me especially when itās an in-store pickup. Thereās max 1 person at checkout the last few times Iāve gone, and the last time a handful of employees were standing together by the entrance just chatting not paying attention to the customers...
