I saw pictures of a birthday party that one of our gymnastics friends had hosted here. I never knew the place existed and was SO excited to show this place to my kids. They had traveled alongside the national Guard and their rock wall in the summer and they couldn't make a hard enough climb for them, and good lord they tried.. Anyways, my daughters birthday was a few weeks away, so we were going to go there out this facility to see about having her birthday there. I had my 2 kids, and a child that is with me 90% of the time because of her drugged out parents. The TERRIBLE customer service I received by the black haired lady at the front desk was apolling. Said I couldn't sign for the 3rd if I didn't have court documentation of her being mine. Whatever, I'll call the "parent", even though I have her insurance card and sign for her on everything... so I go over to the computer to sign for my "legit" 2 kids, and she literally starts yelling (repeatedly) at us from across the lobby that 1)I can't sign a waiver for her (if she would have stopped yelling and watched I was going to call her "parent" to see if they weren't too strung out to sign a waiver online.. 2) yelled that she couldn't even be in the facility without one.. (did I need to escorted her out while signing a waiver??) Is this how you normally treat new guests? When we have a party we go all out and invite whomever they want, including their families. I work in at a school and could have sent alot of people your way, I can make sure to tell them not to...

3 stars as far as modern climbing gyms go... but 4 stars for being the only gym in Vancouver.

The pros:

The setting isn't too easy. Assuming the tweaky problems don't hurt you, you'll get strong if you climb here. It's a GREAT deal for the money. Sure, the place is smaller, but if you're a resourceful person, it's got everything you need to make you a strong, fit climber. Great location for those of us north of the river. The staff is great and everybody there is friendly and encouraging.

The cons: It's small. Bouldering is a constant challenge in choosing problems that don't top out over somebody. If the busy nights had any more people, it'd actually be a problem. Too many auto-belays and a second floor that is both useless to an adult climber and always empty. But I'm sure when the day comes, I'll be glad birthday parties happen up there, and not in the main area. Grimy old holds. Not much that can be done about that I suppose, because holds are $$$. The setting is clunky and just not that fun. The movement in particular is lacking. Hastily thrown together problems that probably work better for smaller people/kids. It IS plenty hard though, which is better than the alternative. There are a TON of spinners. Haven't had so many holds spin on me anywhere. I think it's the wall texture. Keeps things interesting I guess.

Overall, great value and more than enough for most climbers. Will definitely continue to use if I...

I climb here about once a week, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. As an climber, I've frequented numerous rock gyms over the years, but Source Rock Climbing stands out as an absolute gem in the climbing community. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I knew I was in for a remarkable experience.

One of the standout features of Source Rock Climbing is its incredible selection of routes. Whether you're a beginner looking to conquer your first climb or an experienced climber seeking a challenge, this gym has it all. The routes are thoughtfully designed, offering a diverse range of difficulties, angles, and holds. It's clear that the route setters at Source Rock Climb possess a deep understanding of climbing dynamics, as they consistently deliver engaging and exciting climbs that keep you coming back for more.

The staff at Source Rock Climb are undoubtedly some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable individuals I've encountered in the climbing community. They are always available to provide guidance, answer questions, and offer encouragement. Their passion for climbing is infectious, and they genuinely care about the success and enjoyment of each climber. Whether you're a seasoned climber or a complete beginner, you'll find their expertise and...

This place is so awesome, and fun for all ages and walks of life. They have a lot of different difficulties for indoor rock climbing as well as a kid's gym upstairs. Even if it's your first time trying the sport out (as it was mine), it's still very intense and entertaining, and you can go at your own pace. They have pretty good deals for memberships and for guests to try the place out for a day. It can get crowded sometimes, but everyone seems pretty respectful and able to keep to their own personal space. In addition, the customer service was helpful and thorough in answering any questions, definitely concerned about the safety of anyone who steps inside.

I went for my nephews birthday party and we had a blast! ALL associates were super friendly, nonjudgemental, happy and so much fun to hang out with while we climbed. By the end of it we felt like they were just invited to the party. Extremely helpful with all ages of kids.that attend the party! Highly reccomend doing a childs birthday party here, it's not the typical, bowling or arcade setting which made it fun and so interesting!! You can climb in what ever you show up in or rent straps or shoes! There was street parking and the place are multiple spots to climb up. Highly highly recommend this place! Atleast check out one time, it will be worth it!!
