I have NEVER had such outrageously poor service at a restaurant, my wife’s pizza was made incorrectly, and my food was served cold! The male server was rude, smug, and clearly had no vested interest in doing his job well; he flat-out stated that he was only doing it to “pay the bills!” When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told that she was too busy! When I talked to the senior staff member on duty, it became clear that she was stressed to the max and also had no inclination to diffuse the situation. It makes me very sad when I see such a sense of apathy in young men and women like these two. We’ve all done jobs just to “pay the bills”, especially in our younger years; but if you’re going to do a job, take pride in doing it well! Whatever it is. The owners of this business would be advised to train their staff as to what is and what isn’t an acceptable way to conduct themselves with customers, including training those who are occasionally placed in a supervisory position regarding the appropriate handling and diffusing of customer concerns. This could have easily been remedied, if it had been handled appropriately. I consider myself a reasonable and respectful person, but I do expect to also be treated respectfully. Most businesses are desperately trying to recover from the effects of the last 2-3 years and this can be seen in their focus on delivering great service. Clearly, this establishment does not share this desire. People only have so much surplus money to spend on eating out, especially in today’s economy. I will NEVER return to Bessolo Pizza; I prefer to give my business to an establishment where the owners and staff clearly appreciate it, of which there are many. If service matters to you, I’d think twice about eating at Bessolo Pizza. Very...
Read moreWe walked in expecting to bring the pizza to a movie, I let them know my time frame, and they assured me that it would be ready in twenty-ish minutes, well before my movie started. So we ordered 2 pizzas and a calzone with card. About 45 minutes after we ordered, 5 minutes before our movie started, we checked to see where the food was because we hadn't gotten anything yet. They told us that the calzone was burned and needed to be remade. We asked if we could just get a refund as we were gonna be late to the movie. They said they couldn't because they didn't know how. We asked them to call their manager because we haven't been served any food and just wanted a refund so we could catch our movie. Eventually someone higher up showed up and they started to argue that sometimes food takes longer and we should've expected this, even though they assured us we'd have plenty of time to get the food before the movie started. We just wanted a refund, and told them we don't really care about anything else. Again they told us that they didn't know how to do that and we should've called ahead to order the food. We kept asking for a refund for about 10 minutes, well past the start of the movie, and they finally gave us our money back in cash, but didn't give back the tip. So again we just asked for a refund on card. This took another eight minutes for them to finally get the refund, all while arguing that they could've brought the food the theater after they remade the food. They only told us this well after we missed our movie. We left and they were still giving excuses on how we should've done...
Read moreUpdate Ocrober 24, 2024.....Unfortunately, Bessolo is now closed. The good news is that Dan, the owner, has intention to reopen an abbreviated version of Bessolo inside his Kiggins Theater location. Great food experience served by friendly and efficient staff. Bessolo Pizza at the site of the former Vinnies is located along the lower Main St. strip. While this is not a "first-date impress me venue," the location is convenient and functional. My order was taken promptly, and selections were explained. I ordered a small garden salad and a LARGE strombolli. The salad came out first and was very fr esh and large enough for both of us to share. Excellent! The strombolli ( new to me ) came out in about 10-15 minutes. It needed to be made fresh and then baked ---sort of like a pizza. The stombolli , large size , was a monster--huge! Layered with meats and cheese and a slathering of mustard, the strombolli is then baked to a golden browned and served hot. The flavor was superb. The gooey cheeses blended with the meats with the funky warm mustard inside, adding an interesting and tasty twist. The amount was over the to-p--enough to take more than half back home for a midnight snack or 2 or 3! Prices were reasonable and represented good value. Handicap doable. Final take--Excellent and highly recommended . My best recommendation is that I will be back sooner...
