If Boba were an alien species, which let us be honest, to most of Americans, it might as well be, then Short and Sweet is the Ambassador of Boba! To those of us in the know, Boba has become almost too routine, with Boba places popping up like mushrooms in unexpected places, just as quickly to disappear with changes in traffic and construction. They come and they go, it seems mostly targeted towards a younger set, mall kids. The stuff is great, sweet, chewy, fun, but not really getting out into a wider audience. Let us hope Short and Sweet is here for the Long and Strong, Then we have Short and Sweet. Which, while not abandoning the youth is also the most personal adult Boba shop I’ve ever seen or tasted. Great menu! I had a crème brûlée Boba that was to die for and was able to choose my sweetness level (how about that?!?). I was sad they had no honeydew, but can’t wait to try their winter melon! This is what Boba needs. A place where adults can be introduced to the art of the chew! Where the proprietors can bring this fun exciting drink into the mainstream where it belongs. The staff were fun and friendly, they seemed happy and excited to be there. The owners were engaged in their product, which I’m afraid not all boba places can say. I can’t wait for their Mochi Donuts! I’ve been to a lot of Boba places. Some of them are great, a few of them are terrible, a lot of them are just so so… cookie cutter operations with the exact same mixes and the exact same menus and they are ok in a pinch, but Short and Sweet is something completely different. It is a unique experience by people who care about what they are doing. Join the Boba community! I know it sounds weird. In fact it is weird. In this life when given the opportunity to be a little weird… Do it.

This is such a cute little spot I somehow never noticed! Very bright and fun dining space with a mural and Instagram-worthy photo spots. I ordered a brown sugar milk tea with boba, and a grilled chicken bánh mì. The drink was very good, and pretty too! Their boba was super soft and fresh, and you could taste the sweetness from the honey they're coated in. The bánh mì was good, but I wasn't over the top impressed with it enough to order it again. The bread they use was delicious though! I think the cut of chicken I got wasn't the greatest, and seemed like it could benefit from a bit more seasoning. One thing I was pretty disappointed in was the lack of a customer restroom. It's a pretty inviting spot to dine in, but the lack of a restroom in the middle of downtown is kind of a bummer. Between that, and having to find parking, I might not come back as often as I'd like. But it's an adorable little place none the less, and would still recommend giving it a try! The staff is very sweet and it always feels good supporting small businesses. Hopefully they'll have mochi doughnuts soon, then that'll really set them apart from competitors!

Cute place! I am very impressed with the renovation of the old Rosemary Cafe. The colors are bright and beautiful with fun murals painted on the walls. We stopped by on a Wednesday night on a whim. We were greeted with enthusiastic welcome in which was very refreshing. The menu is right above the counter and very easy to read. I was sad the big pastry case was empty which, is where I think the mochi donuts go? I was hoping for dessert however, we did show up an hour before close so maybe they sold out. My husband and I shared a Bah Mi grilled chicken sandwich. It was prepared quickly and served to us at our table. The size is perfect. The French bread was soft inside and crispy on the outside. The fresh veggies were crisp and the grilled chicken was delicious and savory. If we weren’t already full from a previous dinner we may have ordered another. We will be back for another Bah Mi, bubble tea and mochi donuts!

I want to preface this review saying that I'll eventually try to come back but I've been in twice and haven't had a great customer experience. With that out of the way, here's the rest of my review:

If you're looking to get mochi donuts, don't come here on Monday - Thursday as they don't serve them (despite their logo being a mochi donut?), but you might also run the risk of not being able to get one even on the days they are served. My first experience was coming in on a packed Wednesday and waiting in line only to find out from another customer that they only have them on Friday - Sunday. No biggie I figured, I'd come back around on Sunday when I have time (as a quick aside, they have a small sign in the window that says they're only available on weekends so this was on me). On Sunday, we came in around 4pm and were told they were sold out, which is a bit of a disappointment. We ultimately ended up getting the #1 banh mi on the menu and I can't say it was all that worth the wait or the price. A bit overly sauced while not having super flavorful pork.

The employees were very nice and the seating areas were generally clean, so I'm willing to bump it to at least a 2/5. I'm sure the donuts are great considering how much I've heard about them, but I unfortunately don't think I'll be back soon considering the lack of availability for the item they proudly display as their logo.

TL;DR: You'll likely have a hard time getting the mochi donuts unless you're here early on a weekend and the banh mi isn't worth the...

Where should I even start with this shop? I can't stress enough how good it is. It's very rare to come across a place that meets all the standards of amazing.

The staff here is wonderful! I've never had a bad experience. They're always kind, quick, and go out of their way to make things great. They seem like a great team, and that really makes the world of difference when it comes to quality and service speed.

The atmosphere is great as well. Lots of space and seating, bright open layout with fun colors. Even when there's lots of people, it's never felt too crowded. They utilize the space well, and it's one place I'm willing to actually stay and sit at with my drink.

The milk teas are fantastic. Every time I get a drink here, it's perfect, not too sweet but not too bland or bitter. They have pretty reasonable prices, which is always a plus, but I'd honestly pay a little more if it came down to it. I haven't tried their sandwiches yet, but they seem to be a big hit.

The mochi donuts are so incredible! These never fall short. I love that they rotate flavors, and my only disappointment is that they're only available on weekends, though that may be a good thing, I could definitely catch myself eating way too many if they were available every day of the week!

If you're downtown, definitely check this place out! If you're not downtown? It's a good enough reason on its own...
