The people in the store are AMAZING. However, due to my experience with the delivery-team I will never be working with Bobâs again.
Went over the delivery process in-store, that was great. The scheduling team called the day before delivery to let me know the timeframe. They called around 3:30pm to let me know my window would be 8am-11:45am the next day. I asked about options for time-changes as I am moving into the apartment for the first time and will not have keys or building access until 10am. The scheduling team said that that was perfectly fine as the delivery-team will just do a âgo-backâ for my couch delivery. The go-back they would just bring my couch at the end instead of the delivery was before 10am. They would add it to my delivery notes so they would be aware ahead of time.
On delivery-day (Saturday), the delivery team calls me at 8:38am to let me know they are at my apartment. I call right back and the delivery guys says that theyâre going to leave because âThe store workers and the scheduling team donât know what theyâre talking about. Weâre not doing a go-back. You should have been here for your delivery. Youâll just have to reschedule. Iâll let them know that you need to reschedule but I wonât tell them you didnât show up because that would be worse.â I went over the whole situation again with the guy about the 10am time and that scheduling put it in the notes. Delivery guy said scheduling will call be in about 10 minutes.
Scheduling team calls me and immediately they start with âSo I understand you didnât show up for your delivery.â So I go over the whole situation again. The scheduling guy says âWell Iâm sorry that you were misinformed by the previous scheduler. If the delivery team says they wonât do the go-back, then you arenât getting the couch today. So we can deliver it to you on X day instead.â Mind you, it is 8:50am at this point. So the scheduling team moved my time to the following Wednesday instead.
I ended up calling the customer service line, the lady I spoke with was fine. I requested to cancel my order and delivery. She advised it would take a few days to process and post the refund but it was taken care of. Received the confirmation email a few minutes later and the refund at the end of the week.
I donât usually do reviews and this is my first time posting reviews this week. I work in customer service and I know how it is to be on the other end. The biggest and current issue is my total was $2,263.84 but between all their mix-ups and Acima they over charged me I discovered they took $2,618.18 total out of my account.
I called to make the final lump sum payment and told them my monthly payment was pending Bob told me once this lump sum payment is made the pending payment wouldnât be processed but it wasnât true they took my lump sum payment and still took two additional payments out of my account. More than what I owed.
I called again and spoke to a million representatives then got Bob back on the phone finally he said he could put in a request for an audit of my account and payments to Acima that was about 6 months ago still nothing. They are THEIVES! With my items being mixed up so many times and I had to keep going into the store because this was the only way I could try to get answers. The manager told me he would refund my delivery fee, I waited and waited and waited. Then called and called and called. After more in person visits and continues advocating for my refund of the delivery fee 6 months later I finally received the $.
I was made to feel unimportant as though oh we already have your money so your no longer important and all your issues donât matter we will never return a phone call or give you your money back you have to fight to receive any that is owed to you. It doesnât matter how nice people were in person they were all giving me the run around for ever. I made my purchase before thanksgiving 2024 and still have been ignored about the $354.34 they over charged me and stole from my bank account.
I need answers and someone needs to be held accountable. This is a horrible situation and I wouldnât wish the stress they caused me on anyone. I just want my money that was stolen from my account that didnât belong to them back. I am sick of being forced to repeatedly go into the store in order to be acknowledged....
   Read moreFrom the moment I walked in I had a great experience. The salespeople did not âhoverâ around me. I was left to shop and sit on furniture as I wanted. Once I had decided I did want to make a purchase, we found a salesperson who turned out to be the manager. He answered every question I had and there was ZERO pressure to buy, no hard sell. The pricing is very reasonable and in fact because of the no pressure sales, I opted to go for an upgrade on my furniture to powered recliners which added $400 to the price. It was a refreshing experience not to have a high pressure sales pitch right when you walk in the door. The showroom was clean and tidy as well.
I have been to several furniture stores over the years and in fact had just come from a furniture store next door to Bobâs Discount Furniture where I had been put off by their high pressure sales tactics and the âhoveringâ around while I sat on different pieces of furniture. When I said that I wanted to go next door to see what âBobâsâ had as well. The salesman then started to degrade Bobâs Discount Furniture. That put me off of them immediately. Salespeople should sell on their products or companies merits and not degrade the competitor. In this day and age, with internet shopping, customers should be more knowledgeable of the products they are looking at purchasing even before they walk in the door. Sales tactics should adapt to that and not be the âold modelâ which doesnât work well in 2025.
