Trip of a lifetime! Captain Greg and Ricky were fantastic and made our trip an awesome memory. A five-star rating deserves more explanation, though. On our way from Pennsylvania to Virginia Beach, we received a call from Captain Greg. He informed us that the trip we booked -- middle shore -- was not fishing well at all. The waters were warm, the fish weren't moving and the mahi mahi had not yet arrived. He encouraged us to upgrade our trip to deep water fishing. As you can imagine, this caused us some concern... making a call the day before our trip to upsell us with tales of poor fishing where we planned to go but stories of marlin and swordfish being caught in deeper water. Were we being rooked??

We made the decision to go with Captain Greg's recommendation. After all, he is the professional and we hired him to put us on fish. The most skeptical of our group was decidedly unhappy with the decision, but my travel agent did her research and Captain Greg's reputation was stellar so we listend to him and upgraded the trip.

Best. Decision. Ever. Within 15 minutes of putting our lines in the water we had a white marlin on the hook! It was not well set so after about 3 or 4 minutes (and a few impressive aerial turns) the fish spit the hook. But it sure got us jazzed! We trolled for hours with little action, but listening to the radio, no one was finding active fish. We saw a large (9' to 10') blue marlin sunning herself on the surface of the sea and that was really cool! Not long after that, the flat rod hit and hit hard! A blue marlin took the bait about 15' off the boat; jumped twice really close, ran at the boat and then took off... fast! She ran hard and took the reel way int the backing before she tired. Captain Greg was awesome in handling the boat and keeping us on the fish allowing us to work her back to the boat. Ricky, his mate, was an excellent coach encouraging and coaching us on how to keep the line tight, how to reel and most importantly what NOT to do that could cause us to lose the fish.

We didn't lose the fish! We brought her to the boat, took some bad pictures (what do you expect from a bunch of guys) and then released her. She was all of 10' long and every bit of 500#! That was the first marlin any of us caught and it was an incredible experience. When we released the marlin, we did some drop fishing in about 300' of water and caught some good fish to put on the grill.

This was a great trip, truly a trip of our lifetime! Captain Greg is a skilled captain and his reputation is well deserved. He made a tough call and we did the smart thing by listening. August 19, 2019 We went on our fourth trip with Captain Greg. We have taken two half-day trips and two full-day trips with him. Each trip has been great. Captain Greg starts the trip telling us which fish are biting and how we will approach fishing that day. Our first trip we caught our limit of Cobia. The second trip we caught our limit of Spade fish. The third trip was for my grandson’s birthday. He loves fishing and his request was we catch a lot of fish. So after catching some king mackerel. We spent the rest of the trip catching Spanish mackerel. This fourth trip we caught ribbon fish and Spanish mackerel. It seems like the ribbon fish get a bum rap. We fried and grilled them when we got home. It was very good. I know we have been very lucky with our trips. But I believe Captain Greg knows what he is doing. I have tried two other charters and this is the best so far.

Today my brothers and I chartered E-FishinSea for a half-day charter. We caught the limit for Atlantic Spade - four fishermen, 16 fish. We ended up with about 30 lbs of fish after they were cleaned. This is my second charter with Captain Greg. The first trip was during the Summer and we caught our limit of cobia. I realize not every trip cannot be as good as these.
