Charming Nails DC — Local services in Washington

This is by far the worst nail salon that I have ever been to. The staff is extremely rude and they do not have any customer service whatsoever. I arrived for my appointment at two o'clock. When I arrived and sat down, they just put me in the water soaking my feet. I realized I was soaking my feet for 30 minutes and none of the technicians said anything to me, any courtesy, nothing to say, oh, I'm sorry. We're running a little bit behind. We'll get to you shortly. Please wait. Just to be nice, but they didn't even do that. They just sat there and didn't even address me, didn't talk to me, didn't look at me, nothing. Mind you, this is a very small salon, so I'm right in their faces, but they made it a point to make sure that they do not make any eye contact with me. Apart from that, as I was sitting waiting for my pedicure, another Caucasian lady walks in and she has to wait as well to get her nails done. But while she's waiting, one of the technicians gets up out of her seat, goes and talks to the lady, explains to her that she's running behind and she will be with her shortly, even went and got her some nails polishes to look at so she could pick out her colors while she waited. I wish that I have received the same treatment because that would have been nice being that I was sitting there for 30 minutes and this lady literally just walked in the door and got great customer service. I'm not sure if it's a racial thing or if they just don't like people of color, but the way I was treated was very terrible. I will not suggest anyone, any person of color go to this place and even someone that's not of color to go to this place because why would you want to be somewhere where they don't respect humans, where they don't respect people of color or people in general, being that they are immigrants themselves. Then, when I finally decided to leave after 30 minutes, one of the technicians decided that she wanted to start an argument with me, telling me that I should just wait. I told her that I will not wait because nobody acknowledged me for the 30 minutes that I have been sitting here and I will not be spending my money here. She then started speaking Vietnamese to her friends and they started laughing so I left and I will never return back to this location, if you want great customer service I suggest not coming to...

Overall the location is excellent and the offered services will meet most people’s preferences - I love Dazzle Dry. However, it’s very hit or miss on the nail technicians. After going a few times, I found a technician who is detail oriented and nice, but the booking system for appointments takes in a lot of info that doesn't seem to actually matter when you arrive including requests a specific nail technician or entering a discount code. A week in advance for big vacation I made an online appointment requesting specifically by name the nail technician and wanting to use a 10% off recevied by email. When I arrived, she was with another client which would be ok had I not had an appointment and the service by the other technician was mediocre. The alternative person didn’t seem to know how to use Dazzle Dry. I left with oil all over my feet and sandals, and my pedicure is now messed up less than 6 hours later which has never happened with Dazzle Dry as it is normally completely dry before I walk out. Went there twice. The first time the nails shape was so ugly and they shaved into my nails. The gel also chipped in a week. I gave it almost a year before I went back and this time I got a French dip powder. I told them don’t shave into my nails but they still did. My nail bed now hurts from the forced almond. If I asked for almond and my nails are too short for it then the technician should’ve informed me rather than shaving deeper in my nail bed?! The shape now looks awful and my fingers are constantly hurting because they dug into my nails. It also just doesn’t look good.
