like back in a day When I was a kid, but we didn’t had that many choices. we were coming for a soft served ice cream because google is miss informed and recommended to us this place. however did turn out pretty good. parking is sux as all over in Dc but the parking across at the bank making it easier. even tho they got a million cones up not to park, that is sooo ridicules. its closed anyways, what do they care if anyone park there or not on off business hours. ppls full of bad intentions, making lice harder for each others for no good reason like this parking situation. anyway, i got rum and raisin w pistachio, pairing the two was a mistake. they both really good but the pistachio overpowered the run and raisin sadly. we also got strawberry, tiramisu and dulce leche. same situation with the last 2 flavor, tiramisu was overpowering w dulce . otherwise both flavor was very just maybe don’t take it together. cone w chocolate sprinkles was yummy but the strawberry kind wasn’t tasting as fresh as the other. could be a sprinkles, idk. than we bought a box of home made chocolate. its really yummy. the serving sizes are just crazy HUGE, for 3 of us 1 small would have been enough because its HUGE. no wonder costing 8$. the two men working there is extremely nice. they were busy but still didn’t rush anyone to speed up with order. its hard to choose , its too many options, making it extremely hard to make a selection. will be back prolly on a summer day when we are in DC. i wish they got soft serve but as an i e cream shop definitely wont disappoint you.
FYI: they take orders for ice cream cakes for same day just call 4 hr ahead of time witch is i think beyond greatness. i know no other place would even take orders for same day not to mention only in 4 hrs be ready for you.
Good to know for last minute plans on...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at Sweet Thomas tonight. I walked in with my service animal, who is prescribed to me for a medical condition. I have brought her in before (with her service vest on), and had no issues. It is also listed as pet friendly, so it shouldn’t matter. Lastly, it was raining, and we were on a walk. So she wasn’t wearing her vest.
The man was very rude and told me to leave. I said she was a service animal, and he asked for her “ID card.” Those that know about service animals know that this is a made up thing that people have created on the internet to bring their dogs places. A prescription or other paperwork is the only way to prove a service animal. I explained this (he ignored me and shook his head) and pulled up her prescription. He refused to read it because there was “no picture, like the ID cards.” I again explained that the ID cards are fake, and that the prescription states that she is prescribed to me 24/7 for a medical condition. I even explained my medical condition, which I did not legally have to do. He still told me no. I told him I wouldn’t be leaving and that what he was doing was illegal.
He finally scooped my ice cream and then rang me up for 3, as there was a miscommunication about what I was getting. I said I only have 2, can you please refund me for the 3rd. HE SAID “NO. YOU’RE TAKING THAT ONE TOO”!!!!! I couldn’t believe it. I said I don’t want that one, put it back (it was prepackaged in their freezer) and asked for my refund. Again he said “no you will take that one too. No refund”. I told him I wouldn’t be leaving until I got my refund and that me and my service animal would be happy to hang out in their store until he did so.
Incredibly disrespectful, technically illegal, rude, insensitive, and...
Read moreMy favorite thing to get here is the frozen yogurt - it’s one of the only places around that you can find this! The chocolate, tart yogurt, and mango are my favorites. They also have some fresh fruit toppings for the froyo you can ask about.
My biggest issue is I always get the same thing and walk out of here paying different prices. A single frozen yogurt is under $10 and they charge a fee to use a card for less than a $10 purchase. I usually don’t have cash, so they always ask me to buy a topping or add an additional random service fee to meet the $10 threshold. Somehow for something that’s supposed to be like $7 I’ve ended up paying $10.50, $12, $12.50, $11… I just don’t get how this is possible. I dislike that they randomly “decide” to add fees for card users to meet a $10 threshold - when much of their merchandise is UNDER ten dollars - for customers who are alone or don’t have a big order to tack onto a single credit card transaction.
Because this is the only place in the area with froyo I’ve bitten the bullet but the customer service is so bad and I always walk out feeling terrible and not understanding the additional fees I just paid, which largely increase the price of my single item. They also have refused to give me itemized receipts in the past documenting how something went from $7 to $12 to meet the card threshold. If you do choose to visit, it’s best to know that the customer service is extremely disappointing, the card policy is really outdated, and the staff has been unkind to single...
