I very modestly present to you my worst boba tea experience. The woman at the register was so fed up with me requesting hot boba tea she kept rolling her eyes and got very terse and tense, which is weird, because Iām sure the first cup of boba tea was hot. Iād say both the tea and the boba would have felt more cozy that way.
She went on to ask me whether I wanted large or small, and when I got my ālargeā drink, it was so small that when I asked her she told me hot drinks are all one size. So my question was why she didnāt correct it and decided to overcharge me if a small order was going to give me the same sized drink.
I as a customer, donāt exist with the sole responsibility to make things convenient for you. Unless maybe you pay me instead. What a joke of an attitude for someone who works in the food industry. She even shook me off to her coworker, who I assumed is the manager, and were no better in his response ā at least they have consistency working for them.
Iām sure my review wonāt make any difference. Thereās so many other places for tea, smoothie, poke or ramen, so Iāll just match their nonchalance that was pretty much sneering at me that my satisfaction is of no concern to them, and they canāt wait to say ānext!ā.
I hope the rest of the world arenāt as expedient as these guys, donāt we all deserve some neighborly love and peace these days? Especially when itās the holiday season. On top of that, isnāt it the purpose of boba tea to bring simple joy and social lubrication? I sincerely hope this is the worst experience anyone can get over a cup of boba tea, coz it would otherwise be quite self-defeating for all future boba teas to come. This concludes my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy favorite spot for boba in the Georgetown neighborhood if you're just hankering for the classics. They have most of the classic fruity and milk tea flavors, with a small smattering of unique flavors like honey pomelo or lemon kumquat. I especially love their selection of fresh fruit in tea (note that you can only get these in the large size, so they will be a little pricier), and will usually opt for one of those with aloe jelly. Unfortunately, all of their flavors are syrups, so it's not possible to get 0% sugar unless you're just getting the plain tea; also, if you order on UberEats or any other third-party delivery app, you aren't able to change the sugar level at all.
Their service is efficient and friendly, and the store has a really nice vibe, with the wooden walls and green furniture making everything feel a little bit more natural and sleek. They also have a pretty solid selection of food (mostly ramen and sushi), as well as a downstairs speakeasy that I'll have to make another visit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had my first ever milk tea in the States and also in North America here! And that was the day I met my soul friends in DC. Love this place and the environment and the people and the drinks here! We spent fun time and I did enjoy the Macha Zangzang! The default sugar rate is just right! No too sweet nor plain. The restaurant itself is clean and quiet so that good place to take a rest and chat. They even sell ramens and some Asian street foods! Very good impression and will definitely visit and eat in again in the future. Wanna try their...
