Eyelashes R Us - Thread 'N' Wax Away — Local services in West Chicago Township

I really don't like to leave negative reviews, but my recent experience getting a lash lift and tint at Eyelashes R Us was concerning. I will preface my review by saying that my lashes do look good after the lift - my review is more so about the overall experience.

Firstly, my appointment took a full 90 minutes. In my dozens of past lash lifts, it has never taken more than 45-50 minutes.

At the beginning of the appointment, Fatima pressed directly on my eyes so hard that I was seeing stars. After applying the first of three rounds of perming solution to my lashes, she walked away to service two walk-in brow clients. After sitting with the solution on my eyes for 15+ minutes, I became concerned that I was being left to wait too long while walk-in clients continued to be serviced. In my past experience getting lash lifts I've never had the solution left on my eyes for more than maybe 7-10 minutes at a time at the most. There was a lack of care applying the perming solution, which resulted in painful burning throughout my appointment. After working on several walk-in brow clients during my appointment, Fatima began doing a bikini wax. She cycled between working on me/my eyes and doing the bikini wax which I found very unsettling. Although she washed her hands once when she finished the client's bikini wax, she was in and out of the bikini waxing room several times, not washing her hands between each client or wearing gloves. In total, I believe she worked on 4-5 different clients during the duration of my appointment and I observed one hand wash.

Although I scheduled an appointment for both a lift and a tint, Fatima forgot to do the tint which added an additional 15-20 minutes onto the end of my appointment while I waited for her to finish working on another client. She had me keep my eyes open when applying the tint, which again resulted in it getting in my eyes and causing painful burning. She also got the tint on my forehead which left a stain as it was not wiped off for...

Update: I finally got my first eyelash lift with Fatima and it really on further proves that she is the best in the city! I was super scared going into it. I didn’t know if it would hurt or if anything would get in my eye or anything like that. But it was the most relaxing thing I had done in a while. I was falling asleep in the chair lol. She’s really gentle. It only took a little over an hour to complete which wasn’t bad at all. And I am in LOVE with the results!!! I love a very natural looking eyelash and the lift makes me feel like I’m wearing mascara without needing mascara. it’s amazing! This only furthers my promise that I will never patron another eyebrow/eyelash technician in this city. My undying loyalty is with Fatima, Ali, and her full staff of amazing estheticians! I do recommend calling for an appointment or checking availability because she has gotten busy, and rightfully so! ——————————— Fatima is the BEST!! i’m trans so getting anything done as far as beauty goes gives me crazy anxiety. she’s so nice and sweet though!!! she made me insanely comfortable. she’s super gentle even with threading. i was surprised when it didn’t hurt like hell. and then on top of that, she actually talks to you about what is working for your face and what she plans to do for future visits in order to get your brows exactly how you want. she offered facials and eyelash extensions and everything. i was never interested in eyelash extensions until she mentioned them and i saw hers. they’re so cute! it was an amazing experience and i’m so happy it’s near my job so i can always stop by i highly recommend you all look for them on groupon or call to see if they are offering anything!...

Cherry and Anel both do wonderful work! You truly can’t go wrong with either of them.

Cherry was able to save my lashes after a salon in Little Italy put clusters (instead of individuals) on me without telling me. The entire staff of Eyelashes R Us sprung into action to immediately make me an appointment, remove the bad set, and put on a full set of individuals. Cherry even stayed late to finish my emergency removal and reapplication. She’s so sweet.

Anel is extremely thorough during fill-ins, my lashes come out each time looking like a brand new full set. She can do any style that you ask of her. While I prefer a more natural look, she could easily customize my lashes to be more dramatic based on my social calendar. My natural lashes are sparse and uneven, with one eye being fuller than the other, and Anel does a great job of creating balance for me.

The owners Ali and Fatima are always so welcoming and go above and beyond each time I see them. They’re happy to share loyalty discount opportunities and usually a piece of chocolate on the way out.

Get your lashes done here! They do great work and though I go for touch ups roughly every 2 weeks, I could easily stretch my wear (and have) to 3 weeks. If you follow care instructions, you’ll have no problem keeping your lashes...
