Base Nail Bar gave me the most relaxing pedicure I've ever had in my life. First off, the salon itself is absolutely gorgeous. It's very spacious with a ton of natural light. I loved the energy in there. Second, they offer a variety of beverages. The sweet girl at the front desk with the copper hair and amazing nails makes these yummy drinks. She served me their iced Vietnamese coffee which I had two of. I also tried their matcha - it's the real stuff. Their water is also served in glass bottles. They know what they're doing here. Third, let me express that pedicures are usually not relaxing for me because it can be overstimulating. Whether it's loud, or there's always a client waiting so the tech is rushing, or the process isn't gentle, etc. Cece was extremely detail oriented. She took her time with my pedicure and also has a very light hand. The way she seamlessly cleaned my cuticles were a dream for the French tip I did on my toes. It came out perfect. I'm so obsessed. They offer a variety of add on's to elevate your pedicure experience as well. For mine, we did a bath bomb, magnesium flakes & milk powder - then finished off with a scrub, yogurt and honey glaze before the hot towel went on. Everything is organic. I also love the attentiveness at Base. I had mentioned it's hard for me to find the perfect base color for a French tip and the owner brought over the perfect shade before Cece polished. I wanted something that blended in with my skin tone. The entire staff was so friendly. Thank you for a memorable experience. I'm 3 weeks into my pedicure now and it still...

I’m editing my rating based on how the business handled my issue. I am leaving the original review, but raising the star rating bc I think the business handled this situation in such a professional and caring manner. I didn’t ask for anything nor did they ask for anything from me. They reached out to me as soon as they saw my post, apologized and refunded my service and let me know they’d make sure to reiterate the importance of gentle care to their staff. I understand that accidents sometimes happen and I think they did an excellent job addressing the situation and trying to make it right.

Original from 9/18: I’ll start with the good. It is very modern and clean looking and the staff was kind. They give you a lovely little complimentary drink. The reason my rating is so low is because I got a pedicure and my nail tech dug this scooping tool really aggressively along the side of my right big toe nail. It hurt really bad but she did it quickly in one painful stroke so I couldn’t really ask her to stop, because the damage was done. Not sure if it was bleeding bc I was getting my red nail polish removed. It still hurt after my appointment, then last night the pain was really bothering me and it was red & swollen so I soaked it and put neosporin on. It hurt a little less today but is still sore and inflamed. I have never had this happen before and wish they were a bit more careful with the tender areas...

I was so excited to go to this place but unfortunately it’s one of those places where the concept is amazing but they fall short on the small details and execution. This is especially sad since the place looks super cute and could be amazing.

Unfortunately, my manicure started 12min late - even though the place was empty. Other than that, the regular part of the service (the manicure itself, not the massage and special services afterwards) took an hour and a half! There’s no reason whatsoever a French tip gel manicure should take more than 45-55min max.

Other than that, the nail technician unfortunately bruised me in two fingers from cutting my cuticles too much and made me bleed.

At the end I was also surprised to see that they charged me $30 (!!) extra for French tips - without letting me know the extra charge and confirming it with me before continuing.

The place is beautifully designed, I love that they serve you drinks and the staff were all very nice. However, the tardiness, slow service, lack of transparency with pricing and unprofessional nail service that caused me bruising are not on par with the luxurious vibe this place is trying to give off.

I truly hope they improve and get better - because the potential is totally there. However, at the moment, you are better off going to a cheaper, better, more professional salon (that unfortunately wont serve you a tasty...
