Sunset Plaza Dental — Local services in West Hollywood

Literally... wow. This office is horrofic.

First off, this is my second time taking time out of my day to come to the office for a cleaning because the first time i showed up and they randomly changed my appointment time an hour later without telling me. After they confirmed it. My cleaning today lasted 10 minutes. My teeth do not feel any cleaner whatsoever. She scraped my teeth for 10 seconds, there is still tons of plaque and she barely polished them. I am going somewhere else to get an actual dental cleaning. I've also never been into a dentist's office for a check up and DID NOT SEE AN ACTUAL DENTIST AND HAD NO X-RAYS DONE?! HOW DO THEY KNOW IF I HAVE NEW CAVITIES OR TEETH TO WATCH?! I have literally never been to a dentist and they didn't take x-rays to look at the bone and new teeth to put on watch.This is completely and utterly fraudulent. Where are the dentists? I saw a cleaning hygienist for 10 minutes. I didn't see A SINGLE DENTIST!

And as for this $300 "whitening" they gave me- my teeth are exactly the same color. Literally not one single shade lighter. I just wasted another 30 minutes sitting there in pain. GET IT TOGETHER THIS...

I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding a recent interaction with one of your staff members, Mary, during a telephone call today, Wednesday, June 11, 2025. I contacted your office to schedule an appointment and inquire about the services covered by my insurance plan. I asked Mary if she could contact the insurance company on my behalf to gather this information.

However, Mary informed me that she was unable to assist me at that time due to a lack of time. I found this response to be highly unprofessional and detrimental to the reputation of your business. It is my expectation that staff members would be willing and able to provide such assistance to prospective clients.

I hope you will address this matter...

"Quick appointment, no waiting at office, preeminent service" --That was my 5-star review 5 years ago and service has always been wonderful. However, got notice week before appointment that they were no longer accepting my insurance and I would have to pay out of pocket if I didn't have another insurance. Shame that this wonderful dentist office chose to end our business relationship. Thing is: It is open enrollment and I can switch to a new insurance company for 2024, but alas, I wasn't important enough to make accommodations for my last 2023 cleaning.
