There’s a lot of hype about this place. Thats what got me curious. If you have some deposable income (200+/person), and that’s what I had, this isn’t a bad choice. But if you’ve been to Japan for fine dinning, it might not meet your expectations for a few reasons. Fish selection wasn’t bad, they have a bit more than run of the mill. but the rice kind of ruined it. It had enough moist and favor, but the middle is a bit harder than it should. Almost like they didn’t cook long enough before taking it out to cool. The size of each piece is smaller than expected be about 20%. Normal each piece should comfortably fill your mouth, but every time I ate a piece, it feels like a bit more empty than it should, not enough to feel fulfilling for each bite. Also, Would also be nice if they offer real wasabi, not the substitute from a tube. I know they are going for simple decoration with quality ingredients. But for this price point, not sure if the quality...
Read moreOrder “A LA CARTE” 100 percent! It’s very expensive but how they really get you is to let the chef’s pick what they give u and then you literally have to tell them to stop!! To avoid that and a shocking bill I suggest you order a la carte! You get to try all the fresh fish and believe me. You’ve never tasted any sushi so fresh! It’s definitely worth the experience and it’s a complete hole in the wall sushi restaurant but it’s out of this world! You won’t regret it And attire i’d say don’t dress dress up because you’ll notice no one really is at this place. You also want to get seated and not wait so dress appropriately but def not like your going to Mastros lol. I’d call ahead and make your reservations because this place is pretty small so better safe...
Read moreThe omakase is omg! Such an incredibly fresh, wide range of fish. The chefs and servers were all very nice. The sake selection, while limited, was also quite good. I can't, however say that it was the best sushi restaurant I've ever been too, because of one fatal flaw: the location and decor. Granted, this is probably what makes it possible to actually get a seat here, but... I do have to say, that it's not a great date night. Better with friends. And yes, as others have stated, it is pricey. But you get what you pay for. Great fish. And at the end of the day, that's what's most important. P.S. Do NOT go hear if you are not a hardcore sushi lover. This is not the place for spicy tuna and C-rolls....
