One of my favorite restaurants and this was the first time I was disappointed. Been to Bossa Nova many times but first time at this location. Great place, different look than the others. We were greeted immediately and had the options to sit outside patio in front, inside or out on balcony. We chose to sit out on balcony which we had to pass a semi-private section where a graduation party was being set up. We had the balcony to ourselves and the view of LA was amazing. The server we had was nice but not very attentive. We started with their signature margaritas, which were very tasty. Then, he took down our appetizer order which was our favorite, chicken bruchette, and received it 10 minutes later. Much time has passed and then we finished our appetizer. While looking for our server, he was preoccupied with the graduation party next to us. (this party was rude too, they constantly slammed the sliding door that was next to us). I understood the situation with serving a large group, as I was a server myself years ago. I knew big parties like this, need full attention. I gave him more time, I even walked up to the bar area and asked him to put in another drink order in since he did not come to check on us after our first round.
An hour later, HE NEVER CAME BACK TO TAKE DOWN OUR MAIN COURSE ORDER.
our server was so occupied with the big graduation party (about 18 people). At this point, we lost our appetite and was already ready to go, we had been here for two hours. It did take time for our check to come as well. I walked up to the bar area again and to pay our bill. One appetizer, 3 drinks -- $74. Terrible service. Total would've been $100 flat if service was better.
My advice to Bossa Nova: please assign a different server to cover the back section of restaurant rather than a tabletop of two and a huge party. Servers easily neglect the smaller party of two because of the responsibilities of the larger party. OR do not have the balcony available to be seated when there is a...
Read moreI don’t normally write reviews but the way I was treated by the manager Isidro and Alejandra was unbelievable. I order from this place at least 2 times a week I always get the chicken Cesar wrap and it’s delicious. Last night I decided to try a side of mushroom risotto for the first time and I ordered it on post mates. The order took over an hour to get to me and took about 45 minutes for them to even put the order in the coco delivery box. It was late so I understood that because I ordered late they had to put it in coco because there were no delivery drivers available apparently which was fine. I finally got my food and the Cesar wrap was delicious as always but then I started eating the risotto and there was a big chunk of plastic in my food. I immediately was gonna call but it was too late so I figured I would call them the next day and let them know because I was gonna get the Cesar wrap again that’s how much I order from here. I threw the risotto away. Next day I order my wrap and tell them what happened with the risotto. She said she couldn’t find my order I said no problem I will show it to you when I get there. I get there and they start talking at me telling me it’s impossible that a piece of plastic could of been In my food I told them why would I lie about a side of risotto it’s not that serious I order from here multiple times a week mind you were talking about a $10 risotto. They start going back and forth with me about this and telling me basically that I am lying but they will make an exception this time but moving forward there’s nothing they can do. They were being so rude to me and I told them to cancel the whole order and walked out. I will never in my life spend another dollar here because of the way I was treated when I am a loyal customer and I’m the one that found plastic in my food !!!! Not to mention not once did they even apologize. Disgusting...
Read moreSo logic once again eludes the human race. I live literally 20 yards from Fairfax Boulevard. However, the fabulous people at this fine restaurant refuse to deliver food to me because their delivery area only reaches to Fairfax. Now instead of using common sense and saying, "Well, we looked up your address and you are literally behind Fairfax so we'll accommodate you," they say, "Sorry, we don't deliver outside of our boundary for any reason." No problem. I give them an address of a Starbucks on Fairfax that I can see from my window and tell them I'll pay in advance with a credit card. In their infinite wisdom, they inform me that since I don't live at the Starbucks, they can't deliver there. Wait a second, really? I've had food delivered to my office, the beach, a park, etc. Interesting thing is, multiple restaurants on Robertson deliver to our address because it's literally 5 minutes down the road. The other thing that sucked was the fact that we waited on hold for 10 minutes prior to this wonderful customer experience. How does one become so rigid in their dealings with customers? Are they so secure in their business operations that they can scoff at someone willing to order from them on a regular basis? Are they so secure they can leave people on hold forever because they should consider themselves lucky to have the opportunity to sample such fine cuisine? Interesting thing is, the last time I ordered from them the food was so so, but thought, "What the hell? Let's give 'em another shot." Not in this lifetime will I ever spend one penny on or nanosecond dealing with this establishment. They won't care though. I'm just one person, but based on many of the reviews I read, the numbers are...
