At Home — Local services in West Manchester Township

Bought a table “reclaimed” that we absolutely loved there 3 months ago and it ended up bowing and then cracking down the middle. We called the Lancaster store which is much closer to us and we’re told that we would have to return it to where we originally bought which was York. Ok, it’s a hassle but no biggie. I spoke to York store director and explained the situation and asked if they could hold the table for us to pick up - he agreed. We drove there, unloaded the table we had at home, brought it inside and I was expecting that someone had already brought the table we were picking up to the front. Nope. We were told to go pickup the new one and load it up ourselves. Customer service was horrible. There was no assistance, no apologies. It was a series of rushed phone conversations that they simply couldn’t be bothered with. I realize we’re didn’t purchase the top of the line table and that these things happen but nevertheless we did spend $700 on the set so I would expect some common curtesy from the staff or some accommodation. Not impressed and won’t shop...

Bought patio furniture cushions, no cushioning at all, horrible, like sitting on the metal frame! As a Home Store credit card holder, perks member, the return policy stated 90 day returns with or without receipt, tried to return the 6 useless cushions a little over a month later, was immediately told they were not returnable due to removing the white tags WITH THE PRICE on them, who leaves the price tags on their items for everyone to see?? Needless to say will not be returning to their joke of a store and poor customer service, cut up their credit card and threw it in the trash, their loss, and WILL NOT pay for their useless garbage, bill went in the trash along with the credit card! Will be contacting the higher up, store manager was not customer...

I've been a loyal customer at this At Home store for years, and it reminds me of the classic retail experience of K-Mart, Aames, and Caldor, minus the clothing, hardware, and electronics. I love their extensive seasonal selection, especially for Halloween and Christmas. While the products are made in China, that's true of most retailers. I've consistently found good quality items that have lasted over time. I appreciate that they start stocking Halloween items in June! The store is clean, spacious, and well-organized, with friendly and efficient cashiers. Even the bathrooms are clean and easy to find.
