When I was a kid I went into a pawn shop. It was smokey, poorly lit and smelled like the air had been in the same place for 50 years. It was brightly lit, easy to find and I felt 100% comfortable with my transaction. I met Nick and Dave, both were good guys. No tattoos, no smelly cigars hanging out of there mouths or wearing tons of gold chains and bracelets they just wear from work. They were polite, friendly and knowledgeable. My transaction was done right there at the counter in front of me. No "I'll be right back" and off into a back room to get a price on my stuff from "Vito."
