Previously when this was an independent store with actual catalogues (well, long time ago), and 1 store in Cheyenne they sold quality outdoor gear. Now, no. I was crushingly disappointed.
I wondered if we were too late in the season, according to "corporate" who makes decisions based on no idea of the beauty of March snow in Colorado's Front Range. Boulder Target put on deep clearance their best snow shovels one late January- of course they hadn't been selling. Why would they? We hadn't been getting our real snow yet. The Siberian Huskies were sulking. We might need some new Marmot gloves come March when Alaskan Malamute and Siberian Husky parties started everywhere.
No, I don't think we were so much too late as they just don't have real gear. I asked a couple employees and they didn't seem to understand what I was asking. I don't see how I'd get myself dressed warmly enough to head out into any cold weather shopping there.
I was there in February and am writing this mid-March.
Since I was empty handed I briefly checked out the rest of the stock - there seemed to be a lot of duplicates. They have a nice selection of beds for large but not giant dogs, good for a properly sized Siberian Husky or a stocky, not long Alaskan Malamute. Any of them would be a perfect fit for your cat who loves to take over the dog's bed. There's a small selection of housewares and for women, ordinary lingerie. For some reason men seem to have performance choices scattered around the store.
Maybe I'll stop in … I don't know when. If they have no winter or hiking gear in February, maybe I'll see what they have online and stop in to the Cheyenne store when...
Read moreI have never been to sierra’s I was very excited to go shopping there. I can’t drive at the moment due to my disability so my mother thought it would be fun for her to drive up and we could go shop. As it was our first time being there we did not know sierra’s did not let you try on clothes in the changing room with an hour left before closing. We shopped for an hour before they let us know which sucks because we could have gone to the changing room. However, they said we could try on the clothes over our existing clothes in front of the mirror by the fitting room. When we started to change we had a woman named Susan who worked there tell us we couldn’t even even do that. All we were doing was changing shirts over our shirts to see if they would fit. Lots of ladies were trying to change so they ended up putting the clothes on the return racks because no one informed them. Which is understandable because who would buy clothes they couldn’t try on? After getting told by Susan that we couldn’t even try the clothes on we left the clothes on the return rack just like all the lady’s and as we were doing this Susan started to tell us, “ and this is why we don’t let people change an hour before because of people like you”. I understand we are low staffed and I feel for malls right now but maybe having a sign at the door that notifies people they cannot use the changing room and hour before closing would be nice and also not having a Susan would be a bonus:) Little bummed as well since she made me so frazzled that I left my favorite sunglasses behind at the store.
Would give this store a 5/5 if this was not the situation we ran into...
Read moreIt thrills me that this once brochure only shopping, (2 brick and mortor stores with little inventory, at least where I went in Wyoming.)
I have purchased clothing and shoes, pet supplies, household items and bed/bath items. My brother, who was visiting and is extremely hard to please, stocked up on camping food and other miscellaneous things and wanted to return. Everything is top of the line quality, well organized, and excellent pricing. They are now part of the TJMaxx, Home Goods, Marshall's group, so even more buying power.
Having a store so close by is great for so much I need. Not doing well in the wallet department. Once in the store, my list of "needs" increases, merging with the "wants". You know, another toy, or more treats for my pup.
I am no longer camping, but you'll find everythingyou need at...
