As a delivery driver I want to put my experience here as we also are guests. Today, when walking into the store, people are standing around everywhere. There is a desk that no one seems to be approaching so I go up as to indicate who I am picking up for, considering there are bags of food that appear ready on the counter. A girl immediately tells me to get away from the counter as opposed to hearing what I am doing there. She gave no indication of wanting to hear what I have to say. Regardless, seeing those bags and having no clear direction as to what to do or how they operate, I repeat myself, and this time she looks at the bags and tells me the customer's order is not ready. I say ,"Ok" and find a place to wait. As I'm standing there, about six people are called which clears out the entire room. This takes about ten minutes. My order is now about 6 minutes over its expected ready time. I go up close to the counter, but far enough away as to not get reprimanded again. She sees me, stops and asks the customer name again, I tell her, she reads the bags in front of her, and asks me to show her the customer on my phone. Although some places do this, like one out of 20, I'm the only one she has asked to verify proof that I own the order. Finally, she hands me the bag. I inform her that I've been waiting at least 10 minutes for the order. She tells me the order was just placed on the counter. Well, no one seemed to take notice and call it like the other 6 orders that left until I approached the counter. The attendant lacked any manner of professional courtesy which is common in most restaurants in this business. Her decisions seemed to be arbitrary, showing prejudice, and as a whole the entire place seemed unorganized and confusing. Food is not the only value of a place. It's the service, the protocols during these strange days, and the courtesy of the people as well. We drivers lose money when standing around waiting. Every minute counts. To make us jump through hoops to get our food is a grave disservice to us and the customers. I've already declined another order from this restaurant tonight and will continue to do so...
Read moreBest Gyro in the area since Joey's closed, but the service... After 6 separate orders placed here I'd rather never eat another delicious gyro again than return. The food is great, but we've now been not only disappointed on the majority of our orders but straight up lied to. The worst part is how simple our request is... All we ask is Tzaiki sauce on the side so that we can reheat our meat at home. This request has only been completed 1 of the many times we've frequented this location, even though it is always clearly stated upon ordering and we ask for verbal confirmation before taking the food with us. The last time (final time) the girl at the register confirmed enthusiastically that it was on the side but when we opened our order each gyro was SLATHERED in tzakiki, as if they were deliberately mocking our request. It honestly feels as if they do not want or appreciate our continued business and we are finally ready to accept that and not return.
For reference, I do not usually give restaurants poor ratings because I spent many years of my life in restaurant service and can understand that there are many things that can result in a poor review, from understaffing to too much business to staff just having an off day. That is one of the reasons I've given this place so many chances (at least 6, though it may be more) before finally reviewing.
If you DO choose to go here, PLEASE take my advice on this one thing: do NOT waste additional money getting the Great Greek Gyro over the traditional. While they do add the feta and lettuce, they also reduce the amount of meat significantly. On one of orders where my husband got the great Greek and I stuck with the traditional he recieved only half of the meat for the extra expense. You don't have to trust me on this, but if you pay attention you will see exactly what I'm talking about.
I hope that at some point things change for the better here and no one else had to deal with this. The food is good and the place has so much potential, I just wish they put as much effort into...
Read moreI had placed a online to go order at this restaurant, when I arrived they were busier than normal. There was a line to get to the counter and no tables had been bussed for sometime. You could tell they were behind.
I waited patiently in line until I got to the front. When I got to the front, the manager who is running the counter went into the kitchen to help and the person expediting the food was not giving any attention to the registers. I continued to wait patiently.
An elderly lady who was obviously confused was also there to pick up a to go order and walked around the line to go to front next to me. The manager came back out and went to her to ask how he could help her. I simply made a comment to the manager and the elderly customer that I did not think it was fair that she was able to cut the line. At this point, he was already ringing her up so they completed and closed out the sale. Everyone was calm, the customer was taken care of and left.
The manager then told me he did not appreciate the way I handled the situation. I was pretty shocked as I did not think I handled it improperly as she cut every person in the line and I was just making everyone aware. I was never escalated nor was the manager but he did make the statement that he has the right to refuse business to anyone. Being as shocked as I was about this conversation over something so minor I replied, if he doesn’t want to serve me he does not have to. He asked me to leave. I did not make a fuss, I left calmly but I’ll never be back.
Honestly, I think the manager was just having a bad day and was shorthanded while trying to get everything done. Bummer he handled it this way. He seemed like a nice guy.
FYI, Chick-fil-A I picked up instead...
