Everytime I go I have a new doctor, I'm supposed to be flexible like that. But when I need an urgent appointment, I'm told I have to wait for MY doctor to be available. Who is my doctor? I have no flipping clue!
I'm in for an annual visit. They take your BP, weight (never height though so that's weird), same every appointment stuff. The gals typing and asking questions have negative social skills so that's always fun. Then the doctor comes in and asks "How are things going?" And I said "I want to quit smoking" and the doctor replies "You need to schedule another appointment for that". Okay. So moving along. I asked my hormone levels be checked and she said "that's another appointment". So really, an annual visit is waiting room, antisocial nurse, weird conversations with doctors and possibly prescription refills. Maybe. But don't try and get anything done in that appointment. I'd need 17 appointments a year to get my questions answered.
I have Mirena. I needed it replaced. This was my 3rd so I'm a pro. I should have seen an actual gyno but thought I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone and get prescription refills at the same time by going here. Doc popped one out and spent a torturous what felt like hours trying to put the new one in. After realistically 15 min or so, on her 3rd "last try", she said it was upside down. UPSIDEDOWN! I'm still cringing and it's been almost a year. Permanent hand indents on the table? That was me. Weird that the first two were easy.
I've been taking the same meds for my entire life. Every year I have to go in so they can write the prescription. This is so annoying but it's all doctors so wwhatever. I always ask for 12 refills (12 months, this isn't rocket science) and they give me anywhere from 4-7. This year the proverbial ish hit the fan and I needed an extra month before I could go in for this stupid pointless visit. Day #1 The pharmacy sent in a refill request on a Tuesday. Day #3 I called Thursday and was told that it wouldn't be a problem, they'd call it in. Day #7 By Monday I'm out. I call the receptionist and explain that I die without the meds so someone needs to call them in for ONE more freaking month like the nurse said 5 days prior. She tells me she can write a note and someone should get back to me in 2-3 days which would be 9-10 days since the 1st request. Bonus: terribly rude girl on the phone. She just kept saying "I'll write a note. It takes 2-3 days." She didn't care that it had already been 6 days. She didn't care that I could die. She wouldn't help me in any way shape or form. Millennials eye roll. Cumulative I spent 40min on the phone with this office in one week trying not to die. It likely took 30 seconds to write the prescription. Patient care my A!!
Its 1am for this sleep deprived Mom as I type this. I'm up with a sick special needs child. I'm obviously not going to make it to my 8am appointment. I go to the email they sent to "confirm" my appointment but you can only confirm, not decline. I finally bit the bullet and logged into their website whatever and... nope. Nowhere to cancel the appointment. So I call. Nope, no voicemail. My dog has voicemail. Seriously?! WHO DOESN'T HAVE VOICEMAIL?!
Not a single way to contact them after hours and PIA receptionists to contact during hours. Cool. Have fun. Hope...
Read moreI will start by giving credit where it is due- Dr. Gilens is an excellent Primary Care Provider, but he appears to be the only competent person working here. Dr. Gilens has written me two separate referrals to see a psychiatrist at UCHealth to manage my medications and adjust dosages as needed. The receptionist scheduled me an appointment with their psychologist, which I didn't realize until I was actually at the appointment. They kept pushing me to see one of their therapists for treatment, despite not having any specialists on hand for my specific diagnosis, and never sent me a referral list to other therapists/psychologists in network despite saying that they would do so. I was still billed for this appointment through UC Medicine. I called again to schedule an appointment with an actual psychiatrist as I had originally requested, and the receptionist on the line seemed incredibly distracted while making my appointment. I confirmed with her twice that she was scheduling me an appointment with a psychiatrist who could prescribe and manage my medications. She confirmed that this was indeed a psychiatrist, and I took the first available appointment. Two days before the appointment, I received a voicemail from Autumn telling me to call them to confirm whether I wanted to see a psychologist or a psychiatrist. After speaking to four different people, it was confirmed that they had scheduled me with another psychologist for an intake appointment, not a psychiatrist. This has been incredibly infuriating, as I have been having side effects from my medication that I would like to discuss, and their inability to schedule me with the correct provider is seriously inhibiting my access to the care that I need. Every single person I have spoken to in trying to get this accomplished has had a condescending tone and explains to me the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist as if I'm an imbecile.
TLDR: their actual MDs are competent and helpful; their receptionists desperately need training on how to schedule appointments and interact with clients; and their mental health team is ill-equipped to assist patients in any meaningful capacity. Their care is also comparatively expensive, and their billing practices are deceptive/...
Read moreI went in February to the clinic for the first time as we switched insurance. I had five conditions I wanted to speak about. I was told the doctor only wpuld have time to speak with me about 2 things so I had to pick the 2 most important to me. I spoke with the MA for 20 minutes as she typed in everything. I then spoke with the doctor for only 5-10 minutes he left the wrap up to the MA..so seems like 10 minutes for $200 bill is ludicrous but was made worse when they didn't even order the sleep apnea machine for me they were supposed to. I was told to be patient that Apria takes awhile. I ran out of meds and calked in a reorder in August. I asked in passing how much longer I needed to wait...they were shocked and told me the order was never put in but it would be taken care of. Went to the pharmacy 4 days later that Saturday and found out the meds were never ordered. Had to wait till Monday, curiously called Apria and no order, called the office again about the meds and apria, another round of apologies later found out neither was ordeted but this time it would be. Went to the pharmacy and thank goodness that was good. Got a call from apria 2 days layer and...they wanted to know what supplies I needed...? Supplies? I needed a machine. That order had not put in. Called again sorry sorry sorry we will get it done. I told them that I needed to see the doctor anyway so we set an appointment and told them I would check with them at that time if I had heard nothing yet. Sure enough nothing...ask the Doctor and she says "oh so you wanted a machine let me put that in". she then ordered my meds, I thought, and I was on my way. 7 hours later I go to the pharmacy...no order, call the office the order had not been put in but they will have the nurse call me. Office is now closed no call I will have to call back tomorrow. WORST DOCTORS OFFICE IN...
