I would give -50 stars if I could. My husband had an appointment scheduled today to have his Internet installed with spectrum. He had something to do as soon as the appointment was over. They called and rescheduled that appointment. It was an inconvenience, but he dealt with it. Technician came out, hooked up his Internet. While the technician was hooking up the Internet, he cut some electrical wires to my husband’s camper. He now has no power in his bathroom. And his heater is not kicking in (It’s going to be 28° tonight in Wichita Falls). When my husband first called, he was told that they would send someone out to fix the problem. About an hour ago, he was told that it could take 2 to 3 days . So my husband is having to go and pay for a hotel room. I called and explained all of this to the person that answered the phone. All she could tell me is that they do not employee electricians to fix these problems that they’re technicians cause. Then I spoke with her supervisor. This woman also did not seem to care that my husband is having to come out of pocket for a hotel room. My husband may be in a hotel room for 2 to 3 days until they process their damage claim. I asked to speak with that woman’s supervisor. This man did not care. He suggested that my husband come out of pocket to pay for an electrician to fix the issue. Then my husband would be reimbursed when they’re damage claim is processed. ( If it’s approved) All of this started two plus hours ago. It is 8 o’clock at night. I can’t imagine how much an electrician would cost this late at night. Everyone I spoke with at spectrum, said they understood my frustration. I don’t believe them. It is not their husband that could possibly freeze to death or die in a camper fire because their technician screwed up. I advised spectrum that we would be contacting a lawyer first thing...
Read moreI switched from Spectrum to another service some months ago, and boy am I glad I did. Saving $50/mo for the switch. But I kept getting billed for services I had cancelled even though the nice guy in the shop told me I was all paid up. It took calling in to get those bills to stop, but the phone tech was condescending and just repeating himself until I finally yelled and hung up on him--guess that did the trick. And now I keep getting 'preferred member' offers in the mail. Just stop it.
Today a maintenance tech came to see some green box in my backyard. I was busy working-from-home through my new internet service when he came, and have two dogs and a hotwire fence (or else my dogs will hop that fence to chase squirrels, or probably him). I said, can we schedule this for a later time? He said someone will show up again later and that they "do not schedule these" and that if a tech cannot gain access at that time, Spectrum has easement rights and can just call the police to let them in.
Edit: Can I downvote the owner response? Because that's just so... canned. Thanks, Spectrum.
Wow, Spectrum.
Glad I left you! And please take your...
Read moreIf I could find any other internet service provider I MOST definitely would! Not only issues with tech's unprofessionalism and rudeness. Don't bother to waste your time in answering automated review, I seriously doubt anyone reviews them. I'm still having digital home phone service issues. And why does it take 2 man to stand around and watch the 3rd do the work as one made me feel extremely uncomfortable, and honestly a bit creepy commenting on my personal items.
I will add, the last tech not only listened to my request for desired equipment, including rewiring a different room, but went to the effort to check the poles wiring, but was friendly and professional.
The list goes on and on, from the day of purchase being misinformed and charged incorrectly. Then condescending service rep at store to have phone activated, which they never completed and I had to finish on my own. That resulted in over four hours of holding and 2 days to activate phone. Be aware service does not work well here locally; you will be on hold should you have an issue up to 4 hours; they run on a network that you will have to...
