Visited this place for a Sunday Lunch with family and friends. This was my first experience at a Noodle bar like this. Especially after the hype and excitement all around the social media over Ramen and Noodles, we were excited to taste the same. But for an honest review, we were not over the moon after our lunch.
I would rate this place 5 on 5 for their cleanliness, ambience, staff courtesy and behavior. The food wasn't bad either, it's just that we thought it would be better. It's not the issue with this counter rather that is how this menu tastes. We had the following for lunch:
Tempura Shrimp (4 pieces) - $7.99
Exceptional in taste. 10/10. The quantity was less compared to the price. 8 pieces would have done the justice. But it tasted outstanding.
Steamed Dumplings (8 pieces) - $8.99
Not up to the mark. Not enough stuffing and not soft enough.
Pad Thai (mixture of all chicken, beef and shrimp) - $14.99
Best dish out of all. The spice level was as expected. Authentic and delicious. Sufficient amount of meat and shrimps. Anyone will enjoy it.
Pan Fried Sliced Noodles - $11.99
Hell Ramen - $12.99
Tonkotsu Black Ramen - $12.99
Overall it was a nice and delicious experience. Rating it 4 doesn't mean we had something against this place. Just that may be our expectations were different. We would definitely visit this...
Read moreWow! I am very impressed with the style, food, and service here. Upon entering the restaurant feels kind of cafeteria Asian and I like that. The menu is straightforward with standard appetizers, soups, dumplings, and entrees. We had the soup dumplings and the filling was amazing. Perfect amount of soup and smooth slightly oniony flavor. Definitely get this. We waited about ten minutes for the food and we were given a nice little tray of salted sweet peanuts to eat while we waited. A nice touch. I had the rib soup and it was initially heavy on the cilantro but after you dig in it mellows out to a fatty rich flavor in the broth. The ribs were soft and delicate with a slightly smokey flavor. My wife had the tonkatsu ramen. The broth was great. Noodles were slightly doughy, but still delicious. The toppings were fresh and brightened up the dish. My son had the general tsos with noodles. This was probably my favorite. The breading was still very crisp and light with a delicious sauce and the noodles were fried with egg and vegetables with a sauce that brought out the rich flour in the noodles. The price was fair for such an amazing meal....
Read moreThe Fun Noodle Bar is, by far, the best Chinese restaurant in my hometown. Having traveled through Europe and the USA, I can unequivocally state that their menu offerings are just as good as those in Chinatown, NYC, and SF CA. Staff is polite, attentive, and will engage with you about item choices you might have queries about. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! UPDATE NEW YEARS DAY 2025. Well all good things must come to an end. The Noodle Bar is no different. Their costs are still manageable, but their serving sizes of the meals they sell have shrunk. I used to get wonton soup there, but then they stopped making the wontons. Then I thought to get my "go to" food, which was pork buns, their portion sizes were fine, and five of them would fill me right up. Not any more. Not to worry though, there are a number of Asian restaurants in town, and a Japanese Steak House will be opening soon, so all is not lost. I'll be back...
