Well, I have been hearing so much about this store so I took a ride up 316 and it did not disappoint. This maybe one of best setups in the game with bourbon at the core.
First, the store is huge and located immediately off the highway. So you may see any and everybody coming through. The store was clean and had several staff members to help. It flowed and it easy to navigate. I even chatted with one staff member and one of the owners. They were both friendly especially after I told them I was going to write a google review.
Second, I was thoroughly impressed with the layout of the spirits, wine, and beer. They had a very impressive wine cellar with high end Opus and Ace of Spade champagne. I noticed that they still had craft beer too, from local Akademia to west coast, STONE. I am happy to see they haven’t caved to seltzer. But the star as with many stores is the bourbon and their bourbon picks. Their prices were (maybe) a hair lower because I snagged JM Cigar Blend for $7 cheaper. It looks like they also do bourbon tastings because bottles were open in the back near humidor.
Third, they had a private cigar room and a huge humidor. From first impressions, the owners are serious about the cigars too. If you have “Foundation” cigars on the shelf, then you know cigars- very impressive. I didn’t realize EH Taylor has a cigar; interesting .
Fourth, they had a few limited bottles on display but absolutely no allocated bourbon. I did not see one bottle of Buffalo Trace or Eagle Rare. Now I do follow them on Instagram and they do random drops with tier 2 or 3 bourbons but do not expect to get any unicorns. Note The game in North GA is to hide for friends or sell to big spenders behind the scenes.
With that, I do recommend if you are looking for daily spirits, cigars, wine, or beer. It is a really nice liquor store...
Read moreAs a connoisseur of assorted distilled spirits, I have frequented many establishments, looking for various, hard to find liquors, mainly the 99 brand flavors, which I usually can only find the 99 bananas, apples, and peach, at the store I usually shop at, so when I stopped at Turtle Creek, and let me stop there for 1 minute while I tell you how friendly and helpful their staff is. They greet you when you walk in, offer to help, and basically watch you, kinda following you thru the store, which I found slightly annoying, UNTIL she showed me their selection of the 99 products. I was blown away! They had 99 Peppermint, mango, banana, blackberries, apples, root beer, espresso, and more! I've never seen so many to choose from, and I'm not talking airplane size here, but the litre size! They even had the Long Island iced tea. As a bartender, the different drinks that one could create are endless. Basically, they have a incredible selection of different alcohols, wines, and beer, at competitive prices, with a friendly, helpful staff, so if you need a hard to find bottle, I would...
Read moreThis review is long overdue and after what happened today, it’s time. I’ve been shopping here for years and have been apart of multiple raffle drawings. This store is my go to for anything. I came in today to buy a gift for someone. Before going I called the store to ask for recommendations and pricing. The always amazing miss Tammy answered and got me multiple options in my price range but recommended me talking to their store expert in that particular type of liquor for more detail. I came in today to see Jerry and he helped tremendously. I am no expert in scotch’s and he helped narrow down the perfect gift.
The review could stop here but it doesn’t.
While Tammy was ringing me up, there was another customer that came in and stated a man outside seemed distressed and needed help. Tammy quickly hurried to finish up my transaction and run outside to help the man. Ultimately everyone was ok, but the heroic efforts of Tammy and the staff needed to be noted.
I’ve always felt Tammy and the rest of the staff cared for their customers but it shined a little...
