Dining "on the patio" really means going to the speak easy! The back part of the restaurant is a replica of a 1930's gin mill offering everyone a real good time. It's very fun, and they did a good job with the theming.
The menu has a lot of interesting sushi, sashimi, rolls, etc. A fusion of Japanese and Peruvian seems to dominate, and it is a delightful marriage. Not your typical sets, and unfortunately, no tuna of any kind. But they make up for it with inventiveness.
The bartender was great and could actually make a dry gin martini perfectly! Few people realize how rare this is outside of the USA...
Service was great at first, but then it was as if everyone had kind of disappeared. They had two gals who had very good English. I do realize that we present certain challenges when we are in foreign countries, but this wasn't it. I kept having to flag any staff member who wandered by to go get our waitress. Eventually she would get back to us and we'd get to the next step in getting our meal.
Getting our check was a trick. And we were reminded when we got our credit card back that there was no tip included in any of...
Read moreThis restaurant consists of two parts - the Peruvian fusion sushi “Nicky” in the front and a hidden bar “Harrison” in the back.
The sushi in the restaurant is delicious. Fresh fish and excellent service. Great for a date night! Reservations are a must.
The Harrison is a New York prohibition themed speakeasy. To enter, you must walk through the restaurant and a server will take you behind the wine cellar and a "Time Machine".
It was a bit funny seeing another country's interpretation of "American culture" but I think Harrison nailed it - from the New York newspaper menus to the classy interior to the expertly made cocktails.
I could not decide on the cocktail menu, so the bartender asked me what my preferences were. She whipped up a mint banana drink and it was SO AMAZINGLY GOOD. Like one of the best cocktails of my life. AND it was only $6!! (Granted, all the cocktails in Buenos Aires are $6 USD)
Wonderful experience and I will definitely come back the next time...
Read moreI would definitely recommend coming here for the experience but I would only come for maybe one drink and the live music.
I was disappointed for a few reasons regarding food. Number one, the sushi was flavourless and certainly not fresh, we ordered a roll with fried fish in it and the roll came out ice cold indicating it was not made fresh to order. Number two they served a couvert of a fried muscle which was also ice cold and they didn't inform us of the price of this and charged us 500pesos each. It may have been very nice hit and fresh but served cold it left a lot to be desired. I've never liked the practice of serving something without indicating(or indicating there is a couvert anywhere on the menu) that would will be charged for it to be shady. It's not common enough practice throughout Argentina to assume people will know that there is a charge and charging 500pesos for a cold single muscle is quite overpriced.
Drinks were well presented and the service...
