Ankyun is hands down the best restaurant for a steak in Yerevan. It transcends fine dining - an entity of gastronomic pleasure all unto itself.
It isn't an Italian restaurant, but rather a place where the chef has studied under the finest Italian culinary artists, and happens to place in Yerevan. I've spent a lot of time in central Italy (Lazio) and the food prep, ingredient sourcing, ideation of dishes; all is perfect.
This recommendation cannot come highly enough. Also, the staff is always friendly and attentive. Just one thing - their corking fee is high, so it's best just to order a bottle of wine there, and they always have a great selection of wines.
Staff can speak Armenian, Russian and English...

The crostini with smoked salmon & cream cheese were excellent as was the broccoli salad but the burrata salad was really top class. We shared the starters and they were generous in size. We had mains of lasagne, seafood tagliatelle and some of us had steak. Everyone who had the steak pronounced it top class and, for Yerevan, it was quite a reasonable price. Desserts of tiramisu and other delights did not disappoint ! Service was swift, warm and friendly. All in all I would recommend this restaurant for a memorable family get together or indeed a solo diner or couple who want to eat well at a...
Read moreAre you ripping off customers? Then I don’t get it why you round up the bill to the highest hundred. Looks like a scheme to get more tips from the guests. If it’s 12760 then I should pay exactly that and not 12800. The food was okay, but quite pricy for this quality and size. Seriously 4800 amd for a basic pizza that is not special in any way is an overkill. 3000 amd for a tomato soup leaves me wordless. The service needs to be improved. When there are no guests and you can’t choose a table, that’s like mistake number 1 when dealing with customers. As always the greediest one will lose the customers...
